How do i connect my Wii to a wireless Router?

strange. that never happened to me. umm idk maybe the lan adapter is your best bet. i would make a nintendo.com account and ask around the forums first, but for the first 3 days you limited to 1 section. luckely in that section is a help topic, so see what the people there have to say since they are so much more knowlegeable then us here.lol

Your router probably doesn’t want to let traffic in. Make sure that if it has a firewall that you disable it.

Also, the LAN adapter is a USB device that turns one of the USB ports on the Wii into an Ethernet port.

only thing is after u save settings it asks me to preform a connection test....and it fails.

ok So now that i know this i’ll prbkly buy a Lan Adpater this weekend. Till then how do i find my friend code or do i need to be online to do that.

Don’t see how turning PC cookies down when its connecting to something else would help.

Then again, I suck with networking. I have a feeling the router is being mean or there is a firewall on the router blocking traffic.

Or its too low bandwidth, but I’ll have to see the model for that.

It should be in the messages part of the Wii menu. I forget exactly how to get to it, I think you just need to go to the friend list you have in there and it should display your friend code somewhere.

Also, wired is the way to go. Wireless is overrated.

they want to know if your connection was anything to do with it. when you set it to your router, how many bars did it have???

He said it was right next to his Wii, so it should have no signal interruption, unless there is a minimum distance two devices can have, but I doubt that. I just think its messed up.

Well DS I use the WII/DS USB port and it works like a charm but you seem to like the ethernet internet connections so the LAN Adapter os the way to go for you
