Help!!!!! Spent weeks making a slide show for my wifes 40th surprise birthday party, finally finished it (or so i thought) and saved it to disc. Saved fine to disc but I wanted to make some changes to the project, when i tried to open the file again, the message: file “cannot be opened because it is not a valid windows movie maker project file” appeared. The file name is still there but it just wont open!!! Help, the B-day party is Oct 6th. Thanks to anyone who can help!

hmmm, it should be either .jpeg or .avi..

really, you should have saved it to your hard drive using 'save project as'

that way you can still edit it, and recover if the program crashes, which it does. very often.

Ummm there is two types of movie files with movie maker...first there is the project file which you use to reedit the movie then there is the movie file which lets you play the movie so if you didnt save the project file u are screwed
