A remake of Final Fantasy VII for the PS3?

Who thinks its a possiblity? If that game was remade and remastered with PS3 graphics, it would definately be the game to pull the PS3 back up from its pit of failure.

It would just be amazing if they did that.

Anyways who thinks that a PS3 remake of FFVII is practical or possible?

I don’t necessarily agree with any of your choices. There’s a chance of the game being on the PS3 but not a high chance. And also there’s a chance it won’t stay PS1 or PS3.

Um what I do think though is that if there is a PS3 FF7 remake in the works you won’t see it until way down the road after FFXIII is released. But if FF7 was to be released on a hardware outside of PS3 then you may see it in 2008. That’s my take.

there not going to make it on anything other then ps3...they wont make any main FF franchise games on any other console...they just passed DQ off to wii and ds...and yet again...dismal sales...

FF’s highest selling games... in order...

Final Fantasy 7(ps1), Final Fantasy 10 (ps2), Final Fantasy 8 (ps1), Final Fantasy 9 (ps1),
Final Fantasy 10-2(ps2), Final Fantasy 12(ps2),

the rest are on Snes...

I think the possibility is great. I mean, if Square Enix doesn’t remake this game on the PS3 then they’re stupid. However, I recall a quote from an interview that said something along the lines of “as long as the fans want it, there is always a chance”

Not to mention that at the FF7 art gallery last week the creator had a post-it note that said “congratulations on 10 years of FF7, the best is yet to come”

It’s happening, and I see an announcement before year’s end. I can totally see something about it at TGS, since that is where SE reveals all their big FF stuff.

It would be a good move by Square, and it would defiantly help the ps3.

Maybe release it around a ps3 price-drop. They would be an excellent move.

Well if Square Enix does indeed descide to remake Final Fantasy VII, I hope they don’t announce it until like a month before its released, that would shock and thrill so many people, it would just be awesome.

But yeah I agree with Zucas on the part that it most likely won’t be released until sometime after Final Fantasy XIII.

But here’s the most interesting part.

Imaizumi said that the remake of FFVII is a question of timing, mentioning that Kitase, Nomura and Tabata are all busy with the Final Fantasy XIII series. He added that a new game of some form would be announced at the Tokyo Game Show. It’s not certain if this new game is in the FFXIII series or a completely new title from Kitase, Nomura and Tabata — but PlayStation 3 owners should be very excited.

Now, this is a PS3 game right? If I remember correctly, Dragon Quest is going to the Wii. So it’s not going to be a new DQ title. I seriously doubt they’re going to announce a THIRD FF13 game for the PS3. And I don’t see SE creating an entirely new series since It’s a Wonderful World had mediocre sells in Japan.

Now this won’t be a remake because of this part.

Imaizumi confirmed again that there is currently no plans for a FFVII remake but noted that this decision could take place very quickly, and mentioned how the decision to make Crisis Core took only two days. So, have no fret PS3 owners!

However, I do believe that it will be the first Final Fantasy VII entry on the PS3. I’m looking at another sequel, one that takes place after Dirge of Cerberus.
