--- Dogbert said the deepest thing ever.
“It is all a part of the big illusion we perpetuate upon ourselves and which is in turn perpetuated upon us. When we believe we engage the illusion, when we stop believing we shatter the illusion and ourselves in the process because we are part of it."
"God” may not be a “person” or a conscious entity (aka with thoughts, likes, dislikes, etc.)
In Buddhism there isn’t a “God”. Instead there is a law of karma. It’s summed up in the phrase “what goes around comes around." If you do good, good things will come to you; if you do evil, evil things will happen to you. That’s similar to many religions; however, in Buddhism it’s considered a law of nature - like a law of conservation of energy, but applied to the moral domain; there isn’t a “God” or deity to reward the good and punish the evil-doers.
I don’t think it a yes or no question. it is matter of how you define god if you define god if your god is the sun or the moon or the earth then though gods exist
--- "For a wounded man shall say to his assailant,'If I live,
I will kill you. If I die, You are forgiven.'Such is the rule of honour." lamb of god
Yes, but so do many elder beings of higher conciseness. There influence in your life is dependent on your faith and how strong of a energy you project to them. Many different religions. Many different Gods. Each existing on the minds of others. If you believe, that makes them real. If they are forgotten, they loose power and substance. If every single being in the world renounces them, they cease to exist once forgotten completely. Even the slightest inkling of remembrance is enough to substantiate their existence.
So I say yes, just from my own experiences anyhow.
Yes, I believe God is real. And even if he isn’t, it’s still good to let people think so. As stated above me, no God, no reason to be good. If people aren’t afraid of the consequences then they’ll act evilly and be greedy. Without the thought of a God, essentially what little good is left in the world will begin withering away.
It still baffles me that people still think like that. Assuming you have to be scared/threatened (which is terrorism) or rewarded/bribed into being good. Prison population statistics tell a very different story.
Christians make up 75% of the American prison population. Atheists only make up .2% of the American prison population. As a whole, Christians make up 75% of the American population while atheists only make up only 10%.
That means Christians have over 10% higher levels of criminality. Also, those with no declared religion were most likely to be serving sentences of less than 12 months. So not only are Atheists committing less crime, the crimes they are committing are of a less serious nature.
So, what were you saying about needing god to be good?
people are good by themselves. You didnt see cavemen killing eachother because they didnt belive in god. Cavemen naturaly helped eachother more then kill and thats how we are now all religion is is a way to scare people into doing good by religion standards

thats no surprise. there are many people who say they have religion but they shouldnt because they arent even remotely religious.
a friend of mine asked me what my religion was, i said i dont have any, he was like “what?".i said i believe in God but i dont pray to him, go to church etc. he said “oh thats just like me man, jus call yourself catholic”.
ive met many “christians” who cuss more than me, and i dont even call myself christian.
there are many religions in this world, only one can be true.
no one has to be threatened or scared to do good. take me for example i believe hell is the grave, the state of the dead, theres nothing scary about that. i have a pretty strong conscience, compared to most people in school, but i wont get everlasting life only because i do good, i need to go back to the religion i left.
i guess, just because u belive in God doesnt mean ull do good. but respecting him does, after all u cant respect someone u dont believe in. those who belive in God but do bad willingly have no respect for him.
Well, I look at it in three ways. God exists in believers' minds, therefore he is a real idea. I believe in the God who is father of Jesus. I also believe that there could be other gods, as it said, “let us create..." or something, but he could have been referring to the angels.
