So... is Jesus metaphorical? Yes or no.
What about Adam and Eve? Are they purely metaphorical too? What in the Bible isn’t metaphorical?
is he metaphorical as in his existence? no.
adam and eve? no.
ethere are many non metaphorical things in the bible, i cant tell u everything.
Sounds like your just picking and choosing which parts you want to be metaphorical and which are literal. Where in the Bible does it say that ANY of it’s stories are metaphorical?
where in the bible does it say that ALL of its stories are literal?
when poets write a poem do they also give instructions on how to interpret it? do they tell us which parts are metaphorical and which parts arent.
u seem to have a problem with the bible containing both metaphorical and literal stories.
The reason I have a problem with it is because everytime something from the Bible seems just too ridiculous to be believe, suddenly they start saying it’s metaphorical. People used to believe the Earth was flat and rested on four pillars because that’s what the Bible said. Then when we prove the Earth is round suddenly it’s metaphorical. My problem is people using metaphors as a scapegoat to try and validate parts of the Bible we know aren’t true.

faithful christians will do almost anything to defend the bible. even if it means interpreting bible verses into metaphors so reality agrees with them.
but u cant blame them for defending something they would die for. look at evolution, u ask how can reptiles, cold blooded animals, evolve into birds, warm blooded animals? evolutionist say: well its possible prehistoric reptiles couldve been warm blooded.

He’s not picking and choosing. It’s like an expression. When someone is embarrassed and they say “Just kill me now” do you LITERALLY kill them? No. Same with biblical times.
