You don’t even know. You’d have to live around here to understand the feelings about New Orleans that you guys are so rudely hurting without thought.

I have a question for you though;
Is your “no” hypothetical or realistic?

I mean, you yourself pointed out how difficult it would be to have a 'pick and choose' kind of recovery system for disasters in the United States (although there is definite favoritism given to certain causes already). So do you really think no money should be given for the rebuilding? or, as a 'bubble' case do you simply see the cons outweighing the pros?

Oh, and as for my own opinion...I really don’t know anything about the condition or politics of New Orleans right now, but I can’t see how 'cutting them loose' is a good idea. It’s always the poor who loose out on these situations, especially if external funds are slim.

It’s a very interesting debate that is always overclouded by Iraq. I like to bring in some pretty good debates to this topic. Love discussing politics.

It is a hypothetical or realistic no. I’d say it’s a realistic. I mean lets face it this country cares nothing for the welfare of the poor and the enviroment. And with New Orleans its about caring for those 2 things that will save the city. If we are taking no steps to help rebuild these people’s homes and not being given the money to do this then why should we rebuild the city at all. And if we aren’t going to try to do anything to help control or lessen the effects of Global Warming then New Orleans will be the modern day Atlantis.

So at the way this country runs New Orleans was doomed even before Katrina.

But really teh pick and choose policy about this is what frustrates me the most. If we are going to take this approach with New Orleans then why not the rest of the places where this happens. Let’s face if New Orleans is a more important city to America than any of those other places I named. Any city in Florida or any city in California. This is a major port and really does a lot for the oil industry. Does a lot for the natural gas industry as well. It’s a key city in this entire country’s economics.

So it’s hard to think taht we should leave this city to die but as I stated above it’s been doomed from the beginning. Why should the country start caring now. We can’t save New Orleans now. If we rebuild it it will be destroyed in the near future.

You know I dont like to be the Walter Chronkite of situations but there is no good option to do with New Orleans. Either way the country as a whole is hurt economically. It was built in a bad spot and our mistreatment of this Earth is showing us why we are fools.

I mean it’s hard for me personally to know that New Orleans doesnt' stand a chance and I’d always hope we’d find a way to keep the city but ultimately there is no way. By the time I’m in my 50’s where I live will be around a beach.

But it’s time for those here to migrate away from New Orleans and get on with their lives. I do think though the government should be helping to do that which they aren’t. They don’t help us rebuild New Orleans but they also won’t help us find a new place to live.

So that’s my arguement to no. And it’s really hard for me to say a thing like that but it’s the solid truth of the fate of New Orleans. I was hoping more people would be into discussing this but it seems we simply have nothing but ignorant selfish Americans that won’t nothing to do with the help of the people over here.

Well to all you Californians, when that next big Earthquake comes and you are crying for help don’t look to anyone over here for help.

So just because they made a mistake it’s not the rest of our problems to help them after. Just let them rot their and die. Yea I’m sure that’ll look good to the public not to mention the world.

People are stupid and they are going to do stupid things. And when they do it we’ll always have to dig them out of it. It’s how it just works.
