So what actions politically need to start being taken. Cause in 50 years some parts of the world will be under water. Which means mass refugees. You saw how well we’ve handled that in other situations, ie Katrina ect.
Is there anyway to stop it or protect against it. Or is mother nature simply getting its revenge and there is nothing we can do to stop it.

Third Question:
Even if the entire world were to clean up it’s act..I mean, no polluting what so ever. Even, say, if all the humans suddenly died of natural causes. The Earth would continue to warm for...shoot, I don’t remember how long...but for a long time.
So no, there’s nothing we can do to stop it. That said, if doing absolutely everything in our power to stop global warming wont halt it (human contributions to global warming that is)...you can imagine what doing nothing or very little would do.

First up.....HELLO TREEPLANTER
Nice to see you back for a bit
Secondly...I agree with Treeplanter. The damage has been done. We still need to stop, but stopping won’t halt the process.

I’m loving the props and hugs from people! Totally making my day
Question 2:
I don’t know.
Lol, that’s it.
Well, I mean, politically there’s tons of possible policies regulations and laws that could be implemented...some more realistic then others. But it’s just not feasible to stop all CO2 emissions for instance. Not with the western lifestyle anyway.
Guess I just wanted to say hi to firewolf, I’ve really got nothing on this right now

Not sure if you were talking to me or not but....
I’m actually an environmental studies major, so I do look at primary research from all sorts of different angles. (And I did watch an Inconvenient Truth...but wasn’t very pleased with it).
And of course the earth outputs tones of CO2, it makes up a good chunk of our atmosphere! But the Earth can balance that amount pretty well, the temperature only gets out of whack in the short term when, say, a volcano erupts.
The Earth also goes through temperature fluctuations naturally, but the extra stuff that humans are contributing into the system means that the earth is undergoing changes faster then ever seen before.
So those earth systems that have been in place for billions of years(changing all the time...but more slowly) will react differently then normally because of “sudden”(in earth terms) changes. That means problems for us in a big way since it’s been hard enough to predict weather and the like without having this extra anomaly to take into account.
Lol, sorry...I like to explain things as best I can :P

Yes even without human destruction to the Earth we would go under a climate shift overtime. But not in 50 years. More like in 50 million years.
It is our fault and you can’t get around that.

So that’s our mentality. There’s nothing we can do to stop it so we just might as well let it take its course. Haha oh we can’t stop anything so we’ll jsut let all humanity be wiped out. There is stuff we can do and if we survive the harsh time maybe somewhere down the long future human life will survive and they can live a better life.
Whether its hopeless or not we are still entitled to do something.

Its a cyclical temperature change, in the 70s people were worried about an Ice Age, and it is hot now and we will worry about Global warming, but I personally don’t believe it is the fault of humans, you might say i just don’t want to take blame for it but i guess i don’t .

Right...that was my point Doing nothing only makes it worse...so doing something would of course be better!
Not to mention the whole plethora of environmental problems other then global warming that come about from the same sources. So tackling any “global warming” problem will hopefully have beneficial effects for other environmental problems as well (though not always...).

Mmmm...that’s too bad. I guess everything comes down to belief, but that doesn’t make it any less frustrating.
Being in my field I sometimes forget how people can think about things like this.
Almost like religion...so many wont really acknowledge anything that might contradict their beliefs.
Ah well!
Sorry Zucas, figured this would happen, but it sure does make a good point:
How are we going to do anything about Global Warming if so much of the populous still don’t believe humans have any effect on the climate?

So no it’s not much of our fault at all.

Sad to thing we still have denyers of this.
Well here’s the legit part. These denyers won’t be laughing when in 50 years that so many parts of the world are now underwater that we have over 1 billion refugees worldwide. Mass hysteria will put the belief back in these people.
