John was snatched from his parents at the age of six and they used a flash clone to replace him so no one knew he got snatched. From then on he lived much like the boys from ancient Sparta. His life was nothing but train, train, learn history, train some more and sleep. Even outside his suilt of Mjolnir he is still a bad ass. Remember that the Spartans didn’t always have Mjolnir and they were still the most bad ass Spec Ops unit in the galaxy. Yes, in the games John is kinda clunky, but that’s because he’s been slowed down so mere humans can control him. In the books his reaction time is measured in hundreths of a second. In the game he can flip a sixty five ton MBT ten feet into the air. In the books he can easily man-handle a six ton LRV. Also, in all the other discussions I’ve seen not one person has ever mentioned his motion detector. Not a one.
Some people said that he could/couldn’t survive Phazon radiation. I point your atention to the book “Ghosts of Onyx” Mjolnir does not protect against high amounts of hard radiation.
And the whole thing about Samus being able to punch a hole through John, well she would have to hit him first. Spartans are masters of hand to hand combat, though in the games you only get some lame attacks with your weapons.
Personaly I think that in a no holds bared fistfight it would be pretty even, until John got his hands on Samus, then things would get nasty. Augmented strength, reactions and the fact that his muscles and bones have been fortified would leand Chief a pretty solid advantage.
Now if they were to fight in their armors John would be screwd. Samus is mad beardy with her suit fully upgraded and with all of her toys.
Though if you wanted to level the playing field, strip samus down to her plasma beam and missiles. Give her half her maximum energy tanks and it would be a fair fight, asuming that Chief could find enough guns. >.>
