SQUiP? Rep: 61  Joined: 31 Aug 2006 Posts: 10,442 OFFLINE | After all, it did set the bar for console shooters, it had a very unique story (No, it is not a rip off on Ringworld, it’s actually much different except for the ring), it had beaten the record for first day sales/money made for any kind of entertainment, Master Chief is now a symbol for gaming as Mario and Zelda is (Maybe not recognized as much as Mario, but still), and it got Microsoft into the gaming buisness. If it weren’t for Halo, the original XBOX would never have made it, and there would be no XBOX 360. And great titles like Gears and Mass Effect and GTA would be PS3 exclusives.

Some mario games out there sucked but the series is very influential. I don’t think any of the Halo games so far sucked, but that’s mostly because it hasn’t been around for 20 years.
