Mario’s at the point where a new mario game is released every 2 months or so. Halo is probably never going to reach that point because it has a story to follow.

And I never asked how good Halo is, I asked how influential do you think it is. Some mario games out there sucked but the series is very influential. I don’t think any of the Halo games so far sucked, but that’s mostly because it hasn’t been around for 20 years.
stop arguing with the fanboy squip u know he’ll say anything to fight a lost war...
Yeah, I guess you’re right. He’s not really worth it now that I think of it.

halo 3 was ok the solo game was too short but muliplaya is kewl. and forging is also kewl. but not as good as the mario/zelda/metriod games halo does not suck but the 3rd one just ended. mario, sheeesh, i don’t know how long this franchise will go.
It was very influential in the advancement of console online play and features. Otherwise Halo has done nothing different in anything. FPS had already been defined on the consoles before by Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark on N64. Martin Hollis rocks by the way.
Sci Fi had already been defined by Metroid in the NES era and redefined by Doom in early 90’s. Doom, Quake, and Caslte Wolfenstein are the backbones to almost every FPS that you see now.
And although console online for Halo 2 was influential it had already been done on many PC games and been done better.
So it’s hard to see Halo as a very influential series in anyting other than console online gaming. As the gameplay, setting, controls, style, design, ect had already been done way before its time.

I agree with this.
Metroid, Doom, Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong, Fire Emblem, Zelda, Goldeneye 007, Banjo-Kazooie, Socom, and Grand Theft Auto were far more influential. Halo might have been big, but far from from the most influential.

Not the most, but one of the most. I think Halo is far more influential than Banjo Kazooie and Fire Emblem though. Quite more than Socom as well.
