It was just the biggest game at the time, I mean there was none other like it and it is still one of a kind today.......its still the best game ever created.....
The way reviews are setup now and the ever impending bias of many reviewers that are included in that rating makes it physically impossible for any game ever to surpass Zelda: OOT.
But I’d still beg to argue even after 32 reviews Zelda: OoT was still at about 97.7%. And even proving my case further when all the rest of the titles such as Bioshock were at that same number they all had a reviewing of score at about 96% and Halo 3 was in the 94%. The closest one recently at that same time was Zelda: TP for the Wii which was at 97% at that time of reviews.
Of course Zelda: TP would have stayed number 2 if it didn’t get bias bullshit reviews thereon after.
But otherwise it’s impossible for other games to get as high as critical rating as Zelda. And even further no game will ever do what Zelda: OoT did. I just don’t think a game can be that innovative and original and amazing again to even give that same wow effect.
it is an amazing game
i think what helped its success is being able to choose what you want to do
because most games have you go through level after level
but oot gave you the option of of going to many various temples
It’s the mood of OoT that you get while playing through it.
in case any of you have forgotten, watch the ending again, and you’ll know exactly what i mean.
