Please excuse spelling errors, I’m on my sis’s PC and she uses IE (BOOO!) so I’m without my spellchecker. also spoilers ahead
Halo 3.
3 years of nonestop development and testing from bungie.
2 years of speculation
1 year of anticipation
Halo 3
The Game starts us off with our Hero Master Chief foolishly jumping off Truths Ship, at this point, I thought WTF. thats stupid, he had truth closer to him then he did in 3/4 of the game and he jumps off the ship, that cutscene threw me off, but, Bungie came through in the end, with an explosive, beautiful, and enjoyable first level. Which bungie then “spread” across the game, useing their very own “create 30 seconds of fun, and recreate that across the entire game”
Halo 3 is an explosive epic finnaly filled with story, Drama, and hours of MP fun, (not mentioning forge, theater, and the others)
Gameplay
Bungies used the same gameplay since Marathon, and Halo, spray and pay, classic shooter gameplay, nothing special, nothing new.
Which is why I love it.
The gameplay is unoriginal, but fun, simply, thats it, it’s FUN. No items menus to slow gameplay, no unnesicary vision modes. And the two Gun gameplay is always good. the only problem I have with it, and this is the problem ive ALWAYS had with it, is that there is no skill with aiming.
Gameplay, 9.5/10
Story
Good for my standards, I was worried about how Bungie was going to pull off halo 3’s story with halo 2’s more or less VERY BAD “bridge” to halo 3’s story, and in the end, it turned out quite good, Characters became more life like, alot of drama, alot of tied up loose ends, and Halo is finaly linked to the books by cortanas final Pre Credit Line: “It’s been an Honor Serving with you John”
Although Bungie could of easily spread out the campaign more and added 3 or 4 more levels without drawing out to story.
Shot but Sweet.
Story: 9/10
Grahics[b]
Master chiefs model is dissapointing, along with marine face models. Or at least, the face models on the unimportant marine. Other then that, the game is filled with beautiful enviroments, that spread for miles, and the nice thing is, 14 mile draw distance helps keep the enviroments beautiful, no matter how far away they are.
Demon Slayer would agree with me on this though: all objects are textured in SUPER high resoloution textures.
BUT THEY ARE TINY.
We noticed this when I looked at a pine cone in forge, for no reason I zoomed up close, and I saw bump maps on textures so tiny you cant even see them from the normal point of view, I called DS over and he expressed the same feeling as me, the same thing applies for the master chief, High res bump mapped textures, but so tiny you can’t tell they are there.
Bungie made the game so it looks good while playing, not during graphical examination.
[b] Graphics: 9/10
Sound
This will be short and sweet, Halo has always had great sound, martys music is brilliant, and sounds scottish (big points from me for that) And also a bonus is that this music is coming from the guy who got famous by making the SWIFFER and MR CLEAN Jingles.
Sound has depth now, unlike the past two, a brute is across the skirmishing map, he’ll say something witty, but you’ll only hear it dimly.
Sound, 10/10
What I think
It’s for all gamers, Single play obsessed people, Multiplayer Rank Obsessed People, and the casual gamers, MP is packed with good gameplay and good maps, most of them new, unlike halo 2’s “remake” issue. And Forge and Replay Help it’s score SO MUCH. If only Single Player was longer. Final score is NOT AN AVERAGE.
Hmm, well I played Ocarina of Time and to be honest, it really wasn’t that great. Too much walking around doing nothing, and not enough action, to be completely honest.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t respect the game. I just didn’t enjoy it personally.
I think Halo 3’s Campaign was a little short... my friend beat it in like 3 hours.

It seemed like a short campaign, but it was actually not that short come to think of it. It just seems short because everyone wants to beat it the first day they get it cause it’s all hyped up and everything.
9/10 here. I’m just not big on Halo’s online multiplayer. Although it’s online is awesome for it’s community, I’d rather play a more realistic shooter without shields and armor and all that other crap. But the online co-op campaign was top notch but you can only play that so many times before it gets old.
