Agent of Chaos Rep: 52  Joined: 10 Aug 2005 Posts: 39,320 OFFLINE | Talk about fucking awesome haha. Probably one of the biggest and most innovative games in a while coming to the Wii. Here’s Will Wright’s confirmation:
So what set-up do you have at home?
Will Wright: We’ve got an Xbox 360 collecting dust in the background, a Wii hooked up that we use quite a bit. I don’t have a PS3. I still, for the most part, prefer playing games on the computer – to me the mouse is the best input device ever.
Every generation it’s like “the PC’s dead! The PC’s dead!". But it carries on growing when consoles are flat for five years. At the moment I can get better graphics on my PC than I can on the PS3.
We’re doing Spore on the Wii, and we did MySims. It takes signifcant. PS3 and Xbox 360 are similar enough that you can. So it comes down to what the interesting major platforms are and which markets we want to hit.
With this the confirmed platforms on the game is Windows, Wii, DS, and mobile phones. Now knowing EA 360 and PS3 versions are likely to come but they have yet to be confirmed.
Other than that, this means I’ll be getting Spore. SWEETNESS. What yall think of htis announcement and will it be a good addition to the Wii.
Or better yet what you think of how Wiimote control will go with this.

I think that PS3 and 360 will most likely get a version but there isn’t an official confirmation that I can link too. But there is one for all the 4 platforms I just named.

to be Honest... either 360 or wii, because on 360 you have more poeple to play spore with, and your current friends list, and wii you also have lonley zucas and a few other you could cheer up.

they’d probably do 360 over PS3 if they weren’t deving for all 3, MS’s revoloutionary lag solving tech would be helpfull with spore.

Cause the 360 and PS3 versions will simply be the same as PC, but without the mouse and keyboard control. So get it for PC. And the Wii version would be unique to its control scheme making it a worthwhile purchase. Unless your only looking to get it on consoles then between 360 and Wii.

umm SPore’s not online for 1 and two all the content form other palyers is downlaoded automatically (meaning no “updates”.

In a double-wammy interview, Will Wright simultaneously confirmed Spore for the Wii and claimed that the Wii is the only next-gen console.
“We’re doing Spore on the Wii," he said. There you have it. No word on a release date or window.
Then, he added for fun, “The PS3 and the Xbox 360 feel like better versions of the last, but pretty much the same game with incremental improvement," Wright said. “But the Wii feels like a major jump — not that the graphics are more powerful, but that it hits a completely different demographic."
Damn, son. That’s some high-level smack talk.
Wright also believes that the PC platform for gaming will never die and notes that he can already get better graphics out of a PC than he can on a PS3
Looks like Will Right, one of the most innovative creators in gaming has made a good statement and looks like wii owners will get a great new game along with a heavily innovative one as well. All I know is, if they incorperate online into the wii title just imagine the worlds of random people and seeing the butt-eyed monsters people have created from the likes of this:
