I was trying to update the MvC Clan Homepage front post and it said invalid parameter. Does anyone know what that means. Particularly you Bjarne as its your site.
it happened to me too yesterday,,,,and it even said before i decided to log on that my picture wasn’t readable,,,but i didn’t have a picture i was trying to post as a guest

I think the picture is the anti-spamming code that guests have to input to post.
As for your question Zucas I believe it happens when a post exceeds a certain limit to the amount of text it can contain. If I remember correctly this happened to me once when I was attempting to write a story into my profile. (it may be different but I remember the message after submitting it was something awkward)

Tyreaus is reasonably spot on, although it is a bit more broad than just that.
A invalid parameter covers most aspects of the rules of this site in regards to post length, use of quotes, invalid codes for imgs and the like and other assorted things like that.
All it means is that some part of your post was deemed corrupt by the site and therefore you were not allowed to submit it.
Think of it in the way of numbers. Each section of the code that governs a particular aspect of this forum is assigned a value range. The post you made just didn’t meet one of these ranges. it deemed some aspect of your post a 3 rather than the allowed values of 0,1 or 2.
Its just a safeguard to protect the forum from errors or glitches.
Alright well. I’ll try to figure out what went wrong. I think it probalby has to do something with I copied and pasted a piece of text that I got from inside of a quote and maybe that screwed it up somehow.
It might have something to do with the sites coding. I am using C++ and I know for a fact that when I input a verbal command I have to specify the number of letters that can be used, if I want it to output the command back to me (or to somebody elses screen). I think that he probably has a parameter of how much info can be stored in the profile and you somehow exceeded it.
