don’t you get it early if you work at EB or someathing?

no, but if the store you work at doesn’t have the wii kiosk then you could take home the “demo” copy like 2 weeks ago. It’s the full game by the way, the demo that is.

Okay, I’ve been playing Galaxy for a few hours now and I’m ready to throw COD4 back in and have some real fun. I mean, SMG is okay but the best way I can put it is like this; Super Mario Galaxy is basically Mario 64 with a Wiimote (The graphics aren’t much of an improvement from 64 either. The gameplay feels the same as Mario 64 but my son sure is enjoying it. Nuff said.

Interesting. Although I see the graphics part as highly impossible as it’s a major upgrade, but in general it probably is the same. But unless you change your art style then all games do look like an upgraded version. Such as Call of Duty 4 is just upgraded from every other stereotypical war game.

Of course I think Galaxy has a pretty unique art style.

But kinda hypocritical for you to complain about graphical style being overly similar when every game you seem to like fits that stereotype.

lol what’s funny is my girlfriend walked in and asked, “Why are you playing Mario 64?" ....Until she saw the Wiimote in my hands, she was dumbfounded, confused. I told her it was the new Mario for the Wii and SHE even thought it looked identical to 64.

“Was” is the key word here, thus for it’s time. I have no idea how SMG is getting great reviews.

Mario is a household name and Super Mario 64 was his 3d representation. Anyone not really into gaming could have thought the same thing. I’ve had that happen with many of my non gamer friends. I’m playing a title and they see it and think its the original.

Hell I played SM64 on the VC a few months ago and it still rocks.

Personally I just don’t think you like platformers.

After looking at that I can tell you the water effects in Galaxy look much better but everything else looks on par with Galaxy.

However, as I mentioned before, gameplay feels identical to 64.

Not true, I loved SpongeBob on the Xbox and Wii. I thought it was funner than 64 or Galaxy.

Xtrm-

And of course the gameplay is going to be somewhat similar. It’s not only the same genre but it’s the same series haha. I mean hell that' slike saying the new Call of Duty FPS game is bad cause it still has shooting and first person perspective. I mean come on get real.

And not only that the game is going to have similar game progression and play types cuase it’s the same series. Hell without it being colleciton 120 stars what would it be then. Not Mario.

I just think RTS takes you out of the battle. And I don’t like new Turok cause it isn’t made by Acclaim.

But the only genre I hate is racing simulation. It’s just so boring.

agreed on the racing genre...but dude i love RTS’s. And when u zoom in u get to see hudnreds (sometimes millions) of ppl fighting shocked. And trust me in Rome TW or Medieval TW i’d rather not be in some of those battles...

*see’s thousands of catapults killing troops on ground and hearing ppl scream in cities*

I mean I respect your opinion Xtrm but you really have no merit to any of your dislikes of the game. I mean you new going well into the game that it was going to play like any Mario title that you’ve played before. I mean its Mario. But there are things different about it over SM64.
