Remember this comes from VGCharts, and although there sales are normally withing 90% accuracy, still waiting for NPD to confirm it is best. But these sales and NPD sales won’t be too far off. Anyways here’s hardware first off. The first numbers is how much it sold that week and the thing in parthenses is the percent of increase or decrease from sales last week. And the sales right of the percentage is lifetime sales in that region. This is Americas which includes everything on the Western Hemisphere.
Wii- 253,878(+75%) 6,271,881
NDS- 179,601(+15%) 16,564,888
360- 154,918(+9%) 8,580,985
PSP- 88,743(+3%) 9,954,564
PS3- 87,225(+10%) 2,427,171
PS2- 73,684(+17%) 45,412,401
GBA- 22,793(+18%) 41,087,555
NGC- 815(+22%) 12,708,911
Wii completely dominated this week. With about 20 new releases for the week, and one of those being Galaxy, hardware sales skyrocketed. But I’m sure most of that was due to timely shipping increases.
DS soars back up and looking to have a huge holiday season just like Wii. 360 is hanging up high and doesn’t drop down at all. Even with Wii succeeding so valiantly it’s staying up there, mostly due to the killer software it has releasing.
PSP and PS3 outstrip the PS2. Finally eh. PS3’s main increases coming from the 40gb which seems just in time for the holiday season. The majority of PS3’s sold this week was of the 40gb not the 80gb.
Surprisingly though GBA and PS2 aren’t doing bad despite the complete dominance of not just one but multiplae products in their same markets. They had such a large grip on the market for so long that it’s taking them awhile to die out.
Percentage wise 360 no longer has a 50% majority of the American market. Due to this week’s Wii sales and stronger sales of PS3, the 360 sales in America are now simply a plurality. Wii game between 360 is now 2.3 million. That gap should come to about 1 million after 2007 is over.
Now software. Here is the top 25. Bundles are included. You’ll get the rank, then game name, then this week’s sales, and then LTD in this region.

Wooh what a week. Obviously Galaxy takes the gold by a milestone. 750k in launch week now tha’ts impressive. Assassin’s Creed on the 360 and PS3 really come out strong. COD4 still lively and hot. Same with Guitar Hero III on all platforms. NFS: ProStreet, on all platforms did well but EA has to be a little dissappointed. While WWE game did quite well on pretty much all platforms. No surprised on 50k on the Wii as WWE games osld well on the GC.
Capcom will be very happy about opening RE:UC sales. Wii Play also conintues to hold it on.
Overall lots of new releases and jsut a great week for gamers and publishers alike. I’ll update past 25 sooner or later. I’m sure Sony fans are wondering where Uncharted is. ---
