I don’t see a huge difference between the two. And sometimes, from what I’ve seen, HD looks worse.
You know how silly you sound?
Nope.
Jaggies, jaggies everywhere when i play on some HDTV’s, and yet when i play on SD those jaggies are gone.

Yeah with smeared images, smudged edges, sloppy pixels and texture, and washed out dull color vibrancy. SD sounds awesome! Not ---

If you played on a 1080p TV, in that mode, native, you lie.
That’s the similar resolution to 1600x1200 on PC, and its ridiculously hard to see aliasing on that. I mean, hard as fuck. And if you see them, they’re minor.
Now, SD TV’s are much smaller than HD, so they can jam the necessary edge pixels closer to each other than on a larger HDTV. It should also be noted that some games turn off anti-aliasing in HD mode, to conserve FPS, so the jaggies that are actually there may be more apparent, or they used, say, 4x AA, which magnifies the picture resolution by 4 times and overlaps with softer pixels, and you went HD to a resolution that’s only 2x greater than what you had. Also, in SD, the picture is foggier, unless progressive, and an unintended result of anti-aliasing is softening a picture. Not only that, many SDTV’s have filters to enhance the picture a bit, or at least hide aliasing. So there’s a lot to hide, but its not very clear. ---

Then you must be either A) in denial or looking at some shitty HDTV’s.
If its not at least 37”, I don’t bother with it, because you won’t get the true advantage of HD unless you have a large screen. And I’ve seen a 360 playing on a massive, 50” HDTV. If you were there and said it looks the same, I would’ve beaten you. Like, with a spoon or something. ---

strychnine in the guacamole Rep: 47 Joined: 06 Jan 2006 Posts: 16,095 OFFLINE | Well it’s like this, a lot of Hollywood actors are complaining about HDTV because it shows all their flaws. It’s basically like a zoomed in crystal clear image plastered on a huge screen. The picture is amazing but the flaws do show more clearly. But overall, it’s far better than looking at smudgy images.
BTW I have 20/20 vision, I’m starting to question Nervin’s. ---
