lmao as if man Americans need to know more about Canada, I’m American and I knew most of the actual facts.
Actually most Americans I’ve met have told me they thought Toronto was the capital of Canada. We may act like we are, but we’re not lol. If you asked them the name of our prime minister...they had no clue. And until we corrected them, my American cousins thought Ontario was part of the US lol.
I could go on with my American tourist stories... ---

nli Guest | The only reason we americans don’t know a lot about Canada is because Canada just isn’t important. Why would we even care? Canada just freeloads off America. | |

like the Patriot Act? Wiretapping? The government’s right to search your home and business without your knowledge and consent or even a warrant?
And what “freedoms” are we lacking? We have a better social system (funded health care, etc.) and we certainly don’t have to worry about our government spying on us without due legal course...or throwing us in Guantanomo Bay without any charges being made. ---

Actually, I would have thought Toronto was Canada’s capital (still don’t know, I would need to look it up) and I hove no idea who Canada’s prime minister is. Why should Americans need to know any of this? It’s not like it’s high our “important facts to know” list. ---

Ottawa is canada’s capital, and it isn’t so much “important facts to know” in relationship to your life, or that of Americans in general. It just shows the general disinterest in anything outside your borders.
it isn’t important that I should know John Howard is the Prime Minister of Australia, or Tony Blair the Former PM of england,or Gordon Brown the new one... But I do
Kim Il Jung, being the insane leader of North Korea should be a little important, cause he’s a nutcase. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the Iran whacko too.
Stephen Harper, the Canadian Prime Minister being a Bush-cronie however *is* important.. to *me*. But I wouldn’t expect him to be elsewhere.
But knowledge in things outside your “homeland” is still important, seeing as without knowledge of the world around you, many grow up to think things like the True Sonic Wind. *chuckles at the “complete and utter freedom” comment*
If you can’t see a car that’s about to hit you, you won’t really care until it does, and if it doesn’t then what does it matter... right? That is until it hits someone you care about. but the majority of Canadians, just because we are Canadian, do care.
for example, I am on Disability because my Multiple Sclerosis, and barely make ends meet. but 2 months ago I went to http://spreadthenet.org/default_en.aspx and spent $20 on 2 mosquito nets, to send to children in Africa, to prevent Malaria and West Nile Virus and all that. I’ll never see, meet, or get thanked by whoever uses those nets. But I still did it, and over 500,000 nets have been bought in the last 6 months by canadians who feel the same *shrug* it’s just our way

Thats true to an extent but at the same time, ask any Canadian who the president of the United States is and a good majority can answer correctly.
Maybe they just watch alotta CNN ... ---

that’s who I meant mostly Though we stole land too, just with more words and less bloodshed {less, but not None} so we aren’t much better in that respect, except Native lands up here are “Territories”..
