Thanatos who is the son of a Primordial deities Darkness and Night in greek Myth.
as it seems, anything basically made by the greek gods (wonder womens gauntlets for example, made from a broken shield of Zeus, the Aegis by Hephaestus. Which is able to stop Darkseid’s omega effect.)
so if a little item as just a gauntlet is able to stop the omega effect, why in the verse wouldnt Thanatos (being a Greek God himself) be able to destroy Darkseid. The fact is that Thanatos just needs the smallest thought to kill someone. While Darkseid has to actually know where they are. Even if the beam can travel through dimensions, it has to have a location to hit its target. which would take time to locate Thanatos, Time enough for Thanatos to simple kill him.
As for the item about only Darkseid son killing him, that is it, if he can be killed, that mean he is alive, so Thanatos can kill him.
Yes that is true, however Thanatos “IS” a god, so he not only can destroy his own clothe (although he would never do so) he can easily destroy even the Golden Clothe for the saints.
Darkseid would be nothing compared to Thanatos, who is an “old” God, while Darkseid is a new “god” he still wouldnt be able to kill Thanatos.
and about Boom Tubes, time dimension travel, from what i understand you have to be allowed into the underworld, but you have to first past Elysian fields, which it took the sacrifice of the Golden Saints (along with their clothe) just to get past the Wailing Wall.
Although Darkseid could very well just surpass the wall, that doesnt mean he would be welcome in Elysium. a place for dead heroes, him being a villain.
Yupe... Elysion itself only for gods and need dunamis power to enter it... you will pass interdimensional place to enter elysion... diff place from heaven and hell and even from underworld...

The underworld, Earth (our verse) and the Overworld are all different verses, with different environmental laws (physics and what have you, oxygen or lack of. et cetera et cetera)
They are not a “universe” that suggests only one, while they each are verse, a tri-verse if you will.
I mean 'another' place which is diff from Athena universe... yes... it has
1. meikai (we called it underworld)
2. Archeron river
3. Hell
4. Interdimensional between Hell and Heaven
5. Heaven
6. Elysion (perhaps elysion is connected with heaven)...

Sorry but only Darksied’s son can kill him. Now, Thanatos might be able to beat him but not kill him. Just because he is the god of death means nothing.

Thanatos had the power to “KILL” everyone, even the gods he lived with/ worked around. he was sealed in the Jar of Evil for a reason. (pandora’s jar (it got misunderstood and became a box, the box in ancient Greece was not something small normally. but jars were.)
and was let out (from pandora’s curiosity becuase of being a human) to teach man the real meaning of death.
By saying that only Darkseid’s son can kill him, why is that? why does his son get sole ability to kill him?
he got killed by saiya lol... damn you dudes are funny i am getting a good laugh out of this...Thanatos unleashed his Terrible Providence move, which was easily stopped by Seiya with his hands, and caused Thanatos Surplice to shatter, leaving him completely unprotected. Ignoring his disadvantage, the god attacked Seiya once again, who fought back by punching through Thanatos' chest with an incredibly powerful flying punch.
Utterly humiliated and awe-struck at being defeated by a mere mortal, Thanatos stood in disbelief for a few seconds and then collapsed, finally meeting his end at the hands of one of the beings he hated so much.

The reason why Thanatos cant kill Seiya...
1. Athena’s protection
2. It is forbidden for him to spill human blood in elysion (that is why Thanatos using Amphora to kill take out Athena’s blood)
3. Seiya were wear god cloth which have power like Zeus god cloth... and increase his power like gods...
Seiya reach the level of gods or dunamis which have power like him... sorry read the manga again...

The writers made it that way, so there is no arguing it. Thanatos cannot kill Darksied but that doesn’t mean he cant beat him.
The most of this site is pointless, all these “VS” are just uber Fans bashing uber fans.
The point if to bring in facts and measure abilities. All of this is Fiction. So this can never really be known.
And if you havent noticed in American comics, the bad guys are usually given Large handicaps which make them more powerful then the good guys.
For the most part in Anime, the good guys win, there arnt major thickers like only this person can kill me or only that weapon can hurt me. For the most part, its even ground in anime, and everyone can die.
I dislike American comics for that reason.

Thanatos can not be “killed” not in true greek mythos. he is an ever present thing, being death and as long as there is someone 'alive' that has the ability to die, he will still be around.
No matter how much power Darkseid had, no matter how many of the “gods” feared him, Thanatos does not know fear, he doesnt need to know it, he has know way of dieing.
Seiya destroyed his Surplice, yes, and then punched a hole in his chest. however after that point, in the Seiya universe there had to have been people to die. So thanatos could not have been killed by Seiya, if anyone died after that fight.
as for darkseid, he wouldnt win in a fight. thanatos’s body would 'die' but his purpose still would exist as long as someone was left to die. Even the other gods. which Thanatos had a grudge out to kill them all too.
so even if Darkseids son was the only one to kill him, Thanatos would still in the end win, unless killing Darkseid now destories the entire universe or something, those stupid twists in american comics
