You can adjust the height and tracking of your Wiimote. On the screen where you choose how you will play, in the bottom left, there is a button for alignment. If you select that, there are sliders that move your aimpoint up or down and make your tracking more or less sensitive.

Like previously mentioned, you’re better off shooting slowly and making sure you hit your targets than you are shooting wildly. It may not seem like much of a bonus to hit 3 targets worth 50 points each without missing, but once you get up to 20 or so in a row that means that for each one you hit you’re getting 1000+ points.
On the ranger levels, where you are running around trying to shoot enemies, I find it’s better to run through them fast and try to hit everything than it is to take it slow and end up not getting a couple of them at the end. The bonus you get for hitting all of them far out weighs getting hit once or twice.
I’ve never heard about a second scarecrow appearing before. I’ll have to try that out now.
