in the book didnt she get her daemon touched?
Not until the 2nd book called The Subtle Knife.A character named Will was hurt and her daemon let Will touch him.
The entire 1st book(The Golden Compass in USA title or The Northren Lights in Europe) was to get the alethiometer(the golden thing) to Lord Asriel so he can devise a plan to kill The Authority(The Authority is not the women).The 2nd book(The Subtle Knife)is about getting a weapon to kill The Authority wich is The Subtle Knife.The Subtle Knife is a weapon that can cut through anything as long as the weilder of The Subtle Knife put his or her mind at the end of the knife.The Subtle Knife can also cut into other worlds.The 3rd book(The Amber Spyglass) i dont know. Im not finished with it yet.
It had very little inspiration to keep you watching. Frankly, its only for people who are baffled by fantasy and good CG.
The characters were shit. Pure shit. I mean, they couldn’t be more flat than we used to think of the Earth. The girl was just a little bitch who managed to get everything done using the oh-so-childish plot device of “I’m a kid and I need something done! HELP ME!" Nevermind the majority of the movie didn’t touch on the whole prospect of the Golden Compass itself, which she just upped and figured out and it faded in the background. There was no point to this trash.
I don’t care if any other movies are set to explain the movie or make up for its poor plot development and shitty characters. This movie sucks, and it sucks even more if it has to rely on another film.
No, I didn’t read the books, nor do I want to. But, I’m not talking about the books, I’m talking about the movie. So if anyone mentions the book to rebut me, then I won’t respond to them.
That being said, the bear fight was fucking sweet.
