I know And I appreciate you’re indulgence of me.
Even more so I appreciate your willingness to at least consider a new way of looking at the issue.
It’s not an easy thing to do.
And the wobble thing is true...just not directly related
I certainly don’t claim that this is all %100 true...but it’s pretty darn close.
Just don’t let the “doom-and-gloom” people make you doubt the science behind global warming. I find that’s what does it in for a lot of environmental issues...it’s a shame because it discredits a lot of good information and ideas.
Personally? I don’t think about global warming much. It’s not even on my “top ten list of things to fear in the future”.
I think almost all our environmental problems are connected to the fundamental ways in which we conceptualize and live our lives. ---

Haha. Oh dear.
Can I make a small comment on the money issue?
Well too bad..I’m going to anyway
You’re a smart guy. So I’m sure you realize that if you were to factor in environmental and social costs of certain things...they would be very very “expensive”.
It’s a certain lifestyle that you’re trying to achieve.
But it’s going to be harder and harder to get there the more we degrade the environment and use places and peoples for own desires and gain. We’re not living sustainably...this can’t last.
I really want to go into the ethics of consumerism here (had to erase some stuff), but I wont. ---

Oh .
I’m just saying that there are external costs that go beyond the actual price of something.
Sorry Cid, guess I was getting too...I dunno, something. ---

If conclusive evidence can be provided that humans are the primary cause of “global warming” then I’ll be a little more concerned. But I haven’t seen anything that proves that it isn’t one of those “climate cycles”.
an earth 40,000 miles across .... has just 12 kms of atmosphere
does that put things into perspective?
dont you DARe say humans aint the cause.. the UN has admitted Humans as the sole cause.. why cant you ?

Anyway. I fully believe the arctic will be ice free by 2010.
The climate doesn’t gradually move up and down; it gets to a certain point and just flips. It’s a metastable system.
Pretty much all of the planet’s positive feedback loops are in effect now, so I fully expect a massive climatic shift in the next couple years.

secondly, i have , STILL, tremendous faith in humanity
although the corruption and oil magnates are a seemingly impossible to defeat...
maybe we all should pray for a huge climatic calamity to plague america
cuz thats the only way the world will take notice
