It’s the most wonderful time of the year. I sang that by the way as I was typing. Anyways check who dominated the software and hardware:
Nintendo DS - 1,530,000
Wii- 981,000
Xbox 360- 770,000
PSP — 567,000
PlayStation 2- 496,000
PlayStation 3- 466,000
1. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360) — 1,570,000
2. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) — 1,120,000
3. Assassin’s Creed (Xbox 360) — 980,000
4. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PlayStation 2) — 967,000
5. Wii Play w/ Remote (Wii) — 564,000
6. Mass Effect (Xbox 360) — 473,000
7. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PlayStation 3) — 444,000
8. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Wii) — 426,000
9. Halo 3 (Xbox 360) — 387,000
10. Assassin’s Creed (PlayStation 3) — 377,000
DS owns the shiznits and sets a record for most units of hardware set in the month over November, which was previously 1.3 million by PS2. So more like smashed it. Wii just barely gets under a million, but with added Canada it’ll go over. 360 stays up there around Wii but not that close, most likely allowed to stay up there due to shortages of Wii. 360 doesn’t 2:1 PS3, but PS3 still at the bottom of the barrel. On another note DS + Wii> 360 + PS3 + PS2 + PSP. NINTENDOMINATION at its finest.
Anyways software wise COD4 360 takes the top spot, edging out Galaxy by a good 400k. But important to note that COD4 was out for more than a week more than Galaxy, and 360 userbase in US is still larger than that of the Wii’s, especially most of that base already being installed while Wii’s is growing astronomically. So justifyingly sales were essentially teh same taking in those factors.
Assassin’s Creed on 360 owns. And like COD4 on 360, it kills the PS3 version most likely due to huge differences in userbase. GHIII PS2 is easily going to be the best selling of them all but lookie there. Wii version tops out the 360 version. Wii version is huge and has another great month. It’s now sold over 700k in America alone. Wii Play also beasts it out as it stays on teh charts along with H3 which has no drop from last week’s sales as holiday rises prevents it.
Finally Mass Effect opens at almost 500k. Overall a great month in sales hardware and software wise.
I like the asses who said SMG was failing because it didn’t hit a million immediately like Halo 3 did. Suck Miyamoto’s balls, thank you very much. Over a million in one region. Go Mario!
And I’m shocked the DS is still selling this much.
Mario and Sonic at the Olympics- 330,000
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Wii- 180,000
High School Musical Sing It! Wii- 180,000
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles- 120,000
Rock Band 360- 311,900

DS Is a monster and that’s all I can say haha.
But what Halo fans really need to suck is that Wii Play is going to sell more in America than Halo 3 haha.

If Japan is any indication, Wii Fit may own. But I dunno, America is pretty freakin' fat and lazy, too lazy even that we had to develop power buttons on our consoles. I dunno how many people will take the time to play Wii Fit...
Then again, they’ll probably buy it saying, “Hey! I can not be as much of a potato!" but never do shit. So, kudos there.

Well they aren’t going to buy it to lose weight, but going to buy it cause it has the same brandname as Wii Sports and Wii Play which has sold more than 7 million and 3.5 million respectively in the Americas.

Eh...I think its main appeal will be a mixture of the Wii name and the fact its exercising.
I’m sure bunches of people buy exercise stuff, but never use it. No dedication.
Also, its not fair to include Wii Sports in any sales considering it was with the console. And Wii Play came with a controller, so...yeah...
But, yeah, Wii Fit is gonna be big. I’m thinking about buying it myself. I exercise on my own, but hell, why not?

And despite October Canada NPD sales not being available, we can still estimate what it would have been which puts Wii LTD Canada sales at about 520k. Not bad for its first year in a market that is about 10% of the America population. Canadian population is about 32 million by the way.
