Cloud doesn’t fuck about with his dinner, so no impale, Cloud uses any oppurtunity to end a fight, omnislash destroys Dante. Cloud blocks his shots.
He could disarm Cloud and nail him in hand to hand combat and beat him that way.

Cloud is good with blade’s but Dante is good with most weapon’s and his fist’s and feet he is about as strong as loud in human form and can tranceform to even higher level’s of power.

Cloud beat Sephiroth a demi God then but you cant discredit Dante who beat the Devil himself actual God’s and high level demon lord’s, he has now surpassed his farther Sparda and taken the title of strongest demon and has taken down much bigger opponent’s than Cloud.

Kyle, you say Dante is fast, but what effect does speed have at close quarters? None. if Cloud and Dante both had an identical sword, Cloud would be able to swing his much faster than Dante, simply because he is used to wielding a 5’x1.5' blade around, and he can move it around really quickly, as seen in Omnislash. Even if it isn’t slowed down, it’s still fast for the size of the sword he’s swinging. Dante simply has and average sized longsword, size-wise. And he can turn into a demon. Wow. Cloud can summon dragons, fire demons etc. use extremely powerful magic like Ultima and the level 3 Elemental magics (Bolt, Ice, Fire) and can heal himself, either over time or straight away. Dante may be able to kill “world enders”, but there is a good chance Cloud could also do this, he just hasn’t been presented with that kind of enemy thus far.
Think of it like the characters of the DB/Z/GT series. Would Goku have been able to defeat Freiza if he was in the same state he beat Nappa and Vegeta in? No, but he got stronger.
And you’ll probably say Dante would too, and he would, but he relies on his demon form. In a straight out, 1-on-1 physical fight with identical swords, Cloud would win easily.
And besides, would Dante be able to recover from being sliced into ribbons?(And I’m not saying Cloud would, just that Dante wouldn’t either)
Even without materia and just limit breaks, Cloud stands a good chance of winning xD. And yes omnislash is actually slowed down because the original is quicker than a blink of an eye, AC omnislash > VII. Wouldn’t be much point in SE showing the best move if we couldn’t see it lol.
Dante used his farther’s weapon the demon Blade of Sparda witch was just as big as Cloud’s at the same speed as he normaly move’s he did this with his moter bike also so no he isnt as strong as Dante.
Because he uses the same sized sword he’s stronger than Cloud, I suppose Sephiroth is weak because his sword is lighter than Clouds then.
So in close quater’s he could decimate Cloud Dante cut his brother Virgil in half but he remained intact healing in the same instant he was hit so even if Cloud douse hit him witch is unlikely he wouldent do anything to harm Dante who has been impailed many time’s and just got up fine and dandy.
Cloud’s omnislash isn’t one hit, you can chose, 15 or 6 slices it’s up to you. And it isn’t just some continuous slice either.
You asked what good is speed in CQC well Dante can teliport so he could take Cloud’s bck instantly, and at the speed Cloud move’s there isnt much he could do to stop Dante’s assault.
Yet Cloud avoided Sephiroth behind him.
Dante did get stronger throughout the series and will most likely again with his training in Hade’s, Dante’s demon Form is over kill with energy manipulation and flight strenth increase speed increase and regeneration but he douse not need this most of the time unless up against some form of God.
Never said he got weaker.

I think if omnislash kills something more durable than Chaos, Omega and Omega Weiss, why is it any different for Dante, even YOU said Chaos has a chance against Dante.
And with materia, it kinda gives the edge to Cloud.
