You gotta be kidding me? Cloud is the most under-rated Final Fantasy VII fighter. Seriously, alot of FF fans are under the illusion that Sephiroth was “playing/toying/wanking to Genesis p0rn” whilst fighting Cloud. This is because of the big misinterpretation on the ign faqs site, where Squall of Seed says Tetsuya says Sephiroth didn’t sweat or blink during the fight. See the thing is, the part what Tetsuya is referring to is Sephiroth’s animation, they wanted to create an “otherwordly” appearance for Sephiroth, he’s not bound by human physiology, nothing to do with his efforts in battle. Cloud faced a fully powered Sephiroth (who SE say is the most powerful existance in VII) with no materia, items or anything, battled him blow for blow and then loses because of FATIGUE. Some people say Sephiroth was holding back, when he was using full powered attacks. Cloud gets stabbed in the chest in ACC (that’s hardly playing) SE also say they were “fighting ferociously." But still lots of FF fans think Cloud is some chump with a big sowrd.
Our very own Kyle thinks Rosso is on the same level as Cloud, when in Cloud’s ultimania profile SE say he fights her off ferociously. People think Chaos and Weiss could beat Cloud in a second “without trying” when Cloud has faced an enemy more powerful, people think Cloud is slow when he dodges lightning and a bullet at point blank range. People also think he’s weak when he smacked Bahamut down like no other. Some people think Cloud stole omnislash from Zack, when it was infact Cloud’s move, people still use the not getting into SOLDIER as a reason why Cloud would lose. Some people think omnislash isn’t so fast, when infact his previous one which is less powerful = weaker and slower, moves in a blink of an eye. There’s a lot of other stuff I could go on to say but you get the picture.
And to finish, I don’t hate Dante, I just think Omnislash would seriously hurt him, if not kill him.


You’re actually right, because he has some vendetta against Cloud (no seriously he does, it’s not the Cloud fan in me speaking here) thinking that Zack, Genesis, Angeal, Rosso, Azul, Nero, Weiss, Vincent, Chaos, Tidus, Auron, Yunalesca could all make Cloud a dead bitch. Chaos and omega Weiss are greater(slightly or equal to Cloud). But the fact remains, Cloud’s omnislash killed something more durable than either, meaning that same more would kill them too.

In DMC3, Dante’s weakest incarnation he had been impaled multiple times and walked aroun like it was nothing. By DMC2 he is a hell of a lot tougher. May I also note that Dante in MC made Vergil fall a LONG drop in to hell and Vergil was fine. Dante in DMC3 was tougher at that point than Vergil. When Cloud gets impaled by a big demonic sword, that goes all the way through him, we’ll talk.

Considering the fact he faced the Prince of Darkness aka Mundus Lord of Hell some big ass sword only slightly bigger than his isn’t going to scare him.

Dante Teliport’s ubove him and cut’s him to peice’s (he dousent require Omni-Slash to move at those speed’s...and it’s a demon Blade did they not see it when he clashed sword’s with Virgil it started glowing red and smokeing burnning the rain.

And even then, Vergil was not at his best and neither was Dante, that was only mid way through DMC3, Vergil and Dante are much stronger,faster,more endurant,skillful in 1. And in two, DT Dante can pretty much own anything in a few hits. If Vergil had time to improve like Dante, Vergil would own the hell out of many. Perhaps even Dante.

Also Cloud can dodge bullets, but Dante’s guns are magically enhanced and never runs out of ammo and plus, In DMC3 he makes enimies fly in to the air with the bullets.

Hmmm....So here is my ruling.

Strength- This is probably where they are most even, but I think Dante takes this as Cloud only becomes really strong when fighting Sephiroth.

Speed- Lets see, when he was running down the tower in 3, he defied gravity, he should have been free falling. He even jumps off the wall and kills loads of enimies. Throws his sword down and kills many enimies, then runs down while the sword has fire around it and catches up to it and grabs it. This is, his weakest form too and this is only mid way through the game.

Durability-There is no way in hell Cloud comes close to Dante. In DMC3 he was impaled by demon syths and walked like it was nothing. Keep in mind, this was the very BEGINNING. Cloud got impaled a couple times, woo... But he was defently hurt and he was in pain, Dante hardly flinched. Let’s note, Vergil mid way beat the hell out of Dante and impaled him with demonic swords and such. This is before Dante even gets DT. Cloud has never come close. Whats this, what about Bahamut’s mega flare? IT really wasn’t that big of a deal, Aries helped him through. Don’t believe me? Rewatch AC

Skill-This obviously goes to Dante, Cloud’s biggest skill comes in AC when he runs up the building and cuts some building rubble apart and maybe the omnislash. But Dante, running down a builing, was moving in the same direction gravity was moving and still defied it. Lets see, Dante has been way more creative than Cloud and has done way more impressive things.

What else is there to say, Dante beats Cloud in all these catagories, With Cloud coming close to Dante in strength. Let me also note that I was only using mid way through DMC3 and beginning of DMC3.

Of course, but using anything higher would make this topic like to one sided. Also after rewatching the beginning DMC3 mission one, One of those syths goes through near his heart. Dante also fought those Angel things later on in the game.

From what ive seen it’s unreal, piting Dante against some tough MO Fo’s to say the least and the fight’s are even more Supernaturaly unreal than ever lol

Never said Dante required omnislash to move at insane speeds.
Yeah Cloud’s gonna stand there and let him cut him to pieces.


At point blank range, and he can dodge lightning. Cloud’s magical durability is greater than his physical durability, hence Mega Flare doing fuck all to him.


I suppose smacking down bahamut was a long end feat then? lol, even with Geostigma that’s still a good feat.


I don’t think Dante runs at lightning speed. Because Cloud avoids that.

Aeris didn’t help him physically DUD, how can she when she’s dead, that is the symbol of the lift up he gets from AVALANCHE, with Aeris being the last push. You still forget he went through it unscaved AND destroyed the Edge (or at least a part of it) destroying attack.

Omfg, you forget fighting on his bike whilst moving in midar and staying in their, nullifying gravity, staying in mid air when fighting Sephiroth, jumping a few good stories, and his greatest skill omnislash.

Oh and one more thing, Omnislash killed someone who’s more durable than Chaos (who’s near indestructable). THAT’S how I know how much people under-estimate omnislash.
