Ok ok.

For a good hour I have been checking on this thread to see all the petty arguments that happen time and time again whenever something like this happens.

Now apparently I hold some respect with members round these parts so I will put my input into this topic and hopefully the bitching to and thro will end.

Ok.

Now the topic, as had been stated was in very bad taste, much akin to the dead baby jokes that ran rampant earlier on in the year.

Was it lock worthy?

Well, that is a matter of opinion, of which there are two poles.

One one side, we have the members who have vested emotional interest in the subject matter and see it as discriminatory on the basis that it could be seen as disrespectful to the demographic locale of third world countries and the plight of the suffering children.

On the other hand, we have the members who are strictly following the rules and as such refused to lock the topic on the basis that no racial slurs were made and the eating of third world children, while distasteful in its suggestion was not inferred as a racial attack, but rather as some sick and cruel hypothetical.

Now if there was some suggestion of violence or suggestion that could be linked to any sort of racial discrimination, such as racial slurs or re-enactment or suggestion of past events such as African slaughter or Chinese slavery then there would be definitive grounds for locking the topic and warning/banning the members responsible, however, despite the extreme nature of the subject mater, no such events took place.

I fully understand and sympathize with your feeling on the subject matter and share your wish to see the topic ended, but strictly speaking, we as moderators have no grounds to do so.

I see the merits of both sides and the comment to read wasn’t directed at anyone in particular.

I was hoping that being a neutral party members would read my post and look at it logically without all the hate floating around at the mo.
