strychnine in the guacamole Rep: 42 Joined: 06 Jan 2006 Posts: 15,247 OFFLINE | The time has come for me to get a web site for my business and I thought it may be a good idea for some of you teenage high schoolers that frequent this site could gain a little real-world business experience. Hell, I know some of you could be just as good if not more creative than the professionals.
If you’re interested, I’m always willing to work out deals with anybody whether it be Xbox Live Gold subscriptions, a few games for your console, or pay pal ca$h. Whatever the case may be there will be an incentive. Let me know if you’re interested.

What kind of site are you looking for? what would be it’s main purpose and theme?

I’m in Web Design class, but I only know some basics with Dreamweaver. I don’t have much experience with straight HTML code, even though I know how it works. I would just have to spend a lot of time looking up tags and stuff.
I also have zip experience with php, MySQL, Flash or anything that’s beyond HTML.
Would I be able to help, or do want some crazy shit?
I am a manager of our school’s website, but I dunno if that’s credentials enough. I really just need to know what you want and what you want to use to see if I can actually do anything...
Cuz, hell, I’d love to actually get some experience myself! And my price would be a PS3...

Nervin, haha, I’m not joking.
My business is in the Structural Steel Design and drafting industry. Basically I would want a couple pages with a nice background and the 1st page would be the 'welcome page' with a picture showing my office building (which I would provide) and a large logo of the business name which I would need to approve of, and of course the AISC Certified logo which I would provide and have the web page designer put on the page. The next page would be about references, jobs, info about the company, and links to others affiliated with the trade.

Disappointing...
But I didn’t think you’d go for that anyway.
One problem I think most of us, or at least myself, has is we don’t have the software necessary for website construction...I’m probably not gonna be able to help.
Unless you have all that.

Ah, very nice. Evidence of reference to experience I can actually see. So far (in my mind) you’re in the number one spot. Good job, Cid.

Cid managed to do it? I mean, lets be real here; I’m obviously looking for the cheapest way to get something done which in the business world is how things work. Personally, I’ve seen a lot of talent (computer skill wise) come out of some of these guys here on moviecodec and if I could also give them a little experience to freelance in a business world environment, I mean, what harm could that cause?
