You’re very funny! I might as well get a professional to do some fancy stuff for the price of a PS3.

Disappointing... sad

But I didn’t think you’d go for that anyway. wink

One problem I think most of us, or at least myself, has is we don’t have the software necessary for website construction...I’m probably not gonna be able to help.

Unless you have all that.

Cid managed to do it? I mean, lets be real here; I’m obviously looking for the cheapest way to get something done which in the business world is how things work. Personally, I’ve seen a lot of talent (computer skill wise) come out of some of these guys here on moviecodec and if I could also give them a little experience to freelance in a business world environment, I mean, what harm could that cause?

I shouldn’t do it for you than, I’m already working on websites for some of my father’s friends. haha

Do some of your father’s friends have a prize at the end? An incentive to work forward to for all your efforts?

I’m getting nothing for the first site, it’s a favor. But the other person paid me $150 up front and owes another $150 on completion.

I’d make a template and make an html file for it for like... $50.

But I dunno how we’d go about that so idk

Xtrm.. I might consider fully designing a website.. What I’d like to know is, would you be creating a template to be followed? Or would the designer have full creative ability?

And what would be the max that you’re willing to pay?

Finally, how long can you wait?

Awesome! I think I have 'anti-moviecodec' member creating some graphics for the business logo and background graphic design, etc. That would work out good I think. As far as payment goes, I would prefer to pay with subscription codes (eg. 13 month / 26 months Xbox Live Gold memberships, Microsoft points, Wii points, PlayStation network points to download movies, virtual console games, etc. which can be easily sent thru a code via Private Message) only for the purpose of not obtaining any minors home address unless they have their parents approval. Exceptions; In Cid’s case (and any other adults interested) which he/they’re an adult over 18 years of age, Home addresses to send money payment poses no problem for me.

if anti’s making the graphics I could code them to work with a page. It probably wouldn’t be the most efficient but the job would be getting done.

I’ll have to check with my folks about the money thing. Wii points sounds great except I don’t really want any of the games on VC or anything.

Well, I’m clueless when it comes to this stuff unless I hired some professionals to do all for me. I’ve experimented with Microsoft’s Front Page web design software for about 15 or 20 minutes and said, “to hell with that!" I don’t have the time to learn it all. This could be a learning experience for all of us involved and I have a goal which for the right price you can help me achieve what I need done. Come on guys, lets make it happen! That’s the way the world works.

It looks like Anti-moviecodec is my graphics guy and we have this so far: (We’re going to add a few more things to it of course)

This is right up my ally and he’s doing an awesome job. As far as getting this image on a web page, I have no idea! Anybody have any suggestions?

Xtrm- if i still went to my old school in philly i prbly could’ve made ya a great website. My old school had all the applications i needed to pimp a website (photoshop, etc.) but sadly my home PC doesn’t have any of that stuff and niether does my school’s PCs sad.

If ya want i could try to make one though...for free of course. Just so u could decide if u wanted mine or Anti-moviecodec’s.

Xtrm.. You can actually do that yourself pretty damn easily.

http://www.webpage-maker.com/

That’s what I use, the website I did doesn’t look good, but I wasn’t really aiming to make it look good. The program doesn’t need any coding whatsoever, it’s as simple as point and click. Not to mention that it’s also got a built in FTP Client to upload your website.

As for hosting goes, you can get a website hosting package for as little as $20 a month through Network Solutions My dad uses the Advanced Hosting Package - Windows pack they have, it gives you an FTP account. With that, all you need to do is put your account names and everything into the Web Page Maker program and to get your site online, you literately only have to click two buttons.

It’s not difficult to do at all, you won’t have to pay out a $100+ to get a site created, and you’ll be able to design it exactly how you want. You’d just need Anti to create your graphics.

That’s pretty simple and I could slice that up and make it an html file in nothing flat. Only thing is the background, it doesn’t look like it’s a tiled image, so unless anti wants to make a small image that all fit together, that won’t work well.

Cid - Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. This really gets the ball rolling.

Atresac - I think you’re right. I’m going to need some kind of tile image for the background. It’s just not working in one image like that unless it was scaled up big enough to fit the page resolution which may cause problems for others viewing the page using different screen resolutions.
