She could have been thinking “the lack of a heel through this kitten’s head is stopping people from getting off, I should fix that”.
No one ever does something like that to something they think is innocent, even if other people do. Osama thought that the people killed in 9/11 deserved that, but to us, they were all innocent.

But torturing isn’t at the same level as tourturing and then killing shortly after, so that still wouldn’t put gutting an eye out with a fork at the same level as stomping a kitten to death.
