You say it’s victimless but you make it sound like the user is the victim.

But hey, things like heroin, pcp, crack, they all only affect the user, why not legalize them too?

I’m 100% not wanting you on the defensive, I’m just legitimately curious for you’re reasons for supporting pot as illegal (a prisonable offense).
If it’s health for instance, then I’m just curious if you think other substances should be banned as well. I guess what I’m wondering is where is you’re line? Between personal choice and government control. It’s a tricky question, I’m not even sure myself, but you seemed really adamant about your “No”, so I was wondering your reasons, and how that applies to similar situations that either are or are not legal.

There’s just no reason for it to be legalized. People may say “oh alcohol does the same thing but that’s legal”. And if they really think that, then just drink alcohol. There’s no reason to have two legal substances that fuck around with your mind.

I’m convinced the only people who think it should be legalized are potheads who just want to be able to do it without being busted.

In what way would it directly harm you if it were legalized????

In what way would it directly harm me if pedophilia were legalized?

None, doesn’t mean I support the legalization of it.

Smoking marijuana is a VICTIMLESS crime.

If someone is a pedophile they are most likely going to take acts out on to younger children, in which he would be hurting someone elses life.

Marijuana is affecting the users , not anyone else.

You say it’s victimless but you make it sound like the user is the victim.

AS long as there just doing them and not going out doing real crimes ... I see no reason in to not legalize them. It’s a persons personal choice in which they decide what they put into there bodys. I highly discourage anyone using any hard drug but if that’s what they want to do with there life....so be it.. As long as they aren’t fuckin with me I’m fine with it.

And yes, the user is the only one who gets the negative health side affects of marijuana....but they aren’t any worse than half the shit you would consume anyways. And that does not make them a victim....if that was true than every fatass would be a victim for every big mac they order.

Your way of thinking is pretty much “if they want to put this shit in their body, just let them it doesn’t concern me”. A dangerous way of thinking, not to mention a dumb one. We have certain things against the law for a reason.

o.k. fair enough.

p.s. I’m not a pot head, and I don’t mind it being legal
— that being said, I’m not exactly rallying behind it’s cause, I just don’t feel that strongly either way

If people are going to do drugs than there is no stopping them. I don’t think people should be thrown in prisons for drug abuse. Heroin and all that shit shouldn’t be available at any store or even legalized for the sake of more people getting addicted but most definitely decriminalized. People who do that shit need HELP not to be thrown in prison and told “I hope you learned your lesson” Thats bullshit. Were filling Americas prisons with people that don’t need to be there. People with Alcoholism dont get sent to prison, they get help and sympathy from people, but heroin/crack addicts get thrown and jail, no help, and get told tough luck.

I’m not saying drug use is a good thing, IMO Marijuana is the only illegal drug that should be made legal. The rest should be decriminalized and people caught doing drugs like heroin/crack/meth should have to undergo treatment classes.

That exact same logic can be applied to any crime really, so I don’t see your point.

No, a person who murders, deserves prison.

A person who rapes another person....deserves prison

A person who steals....deserves prison.

A person who sits in there basement and smokes a joint, doesn’t bother anyone and eats a fucking snickers....does not deserve prison.
