UBER 1337 Poster Rep: 6 Joined: 13 May 2007 Posts: 1,268 ONLINE | Did anybody else buy this album?
I was afraid he was going to be a victim of the sophomore curse but this was just as good, if not better than his classic debut,Food & Liquor. Similar to Graduation, it is a breath of fresh air from the monotonous rap of today. If you are a fan of real hip hop, go to your nearest store and buy The Cool. This is not something you should only download a couple of tracks from, only a few songs do not come up to par with the rest.
1.Baba Says Cool for Thought-good intro,puts things in perspective
2.Free Chilly- interlude,very good vocals from FNF
3.Go Go Gadget Flow- lupe comes with a twista flow on this one-7/10
4.The Coolest-continuation of The Cool,great storyline 9.5/10
5.Superstar-we all know this one,it grows on u after a while- 8/10
6. Paris, Tokyo- reminiscent of Illmatic with the beat and the mood that lupe sets,one of my favorites-9/10
7.Hi-Definition-feature from snoop,catchy hook most likely his next single-7/10
8.Gold Watch-honestly i love lupe but i cannot listen to this song;very boring-5/10
9.Hip Hop Saved My Life-my favorite on the album with an untouchable flow and story of an up and coming houston rapper-10/10
10.Intruder Alert-very deep song that deals with rape,drugs, and immigration-8.5,10
11.Streets on Fire- a must listen,trust me-9.5/10
12.Little Weapon- another favorite of mine,about kids and video games,great verse provided my Bishop G- 9.5/10
13.Gotta Eat-extended metaphor from the point of view of a cheeseburger,very clever wordplay and catchy hook- 7.5/10
14.Dumb it Down- genius metaphors and wordplay- 10/10
15.Hello/Goodbye-over the Beatles instrumentation but i hate it;annoying-5/10
16.The Die-the death of the cool,great story-8.5/10
17.Put You on Game- my second favorite; very,very dark-10/10
18.Fighters-would have been a good ending with the soft matthew santos touch(no homo lol)-7.5/10
19.Go Baby-annoying hook,probably should not have been here- 6.5/10
some of his best lines on the album

Agreed, a Mead notebook and a Bic that click when its pushed and a whack ass beat.
That’s a track thats weak that he got last week

I dunno why paris tokyo and gold watch kinda bore me, they’re not bad but not to interesting either little weapon is the next one I wanna hear on it...but everytime I bring it up on my computer (I took the songs fro mthe cd and put them on my itunes) I wanna lsten to the same ones haha

they r usually filled with 20 to 30 songs with a lot of features
mainly to giv the artist sum popularity
rappers put out tons of mixtapes b4 they complete their first album
