If it’s been played on the radio, 99.9% of the time it’s crap. Post here any indie bands/artists you like, and don’t post here if you listen to things like 50 cent or green day. Seriously.

Good music creators I have been listening to lately-

the unicorns-sugary indie rock. really sugary. sugar-plums sugary.

squarepusher-will hurt the brains of the less intelligent. excellent stuff.

get him eat him-essentially concentrated indie rock.

the battles-indescribable. you need to find and listen to them to understand.

caribou-psychedelic goodness.

I hate pretty much all mainstream crap. That includes most rap nowadays, Pop music, Emo, etc. I am an avid metal fan and classical fan.

indie is a dumb word. It means independent, as in not signed to a label, and it’s not even used for that anymore. People will slap “indie” on anything if it’s “different” (though it’s normally not).

Most genres are very different from their roots, alternative was taken, college rock was a 90’s only term, you’re not helping the topic.

indie isn’t a genre, it’s a label status.

Indie and its fans are scum. Just as poppy as any other crap rock, with bigger words. Its fans are emos, but even more pretentious. I hope all the worlds bad things happen to you and only you.

I am going to be annoying and make a point of inferring hat indie bands do not stay indie forever. down in Australia, we have a great many indie festivals and from that, a great many bands become mainstream due to being signed up with a label and gaining popularity.

This post is quite possibly the only post about indie that isnt being an asshole, or a dumbass indie fan.

I like some indie stuff, shit, I like any music if it appeals to me in some way, be it through its melody, lyrics, beats or just the style of it. Where it comes from is of no consequence to me.

I listen to all sorts of shit from all sorts of places.

Jpop, rock, blues, bluegrass, soul, funk, classical, opera, metal, death metal, punk, emo, celtic, instrumental, techno....well the list goes on and on.

Different music for different moods.

Thats how I roll.

Most of Mainstream is complete crap. Unless the radio is playing older songs like from the 80s I hardly like anything I hear on the radio. The only exceptions from like the past two years are Coldplay, Rihanna, and Seether(though I only heard Seether on mainstream radio like once)

that’s a pretty dumb statement

“I don’t care about your opinion... now tell me about some bands you think are good so I can check them out”.

And it’s not opinion, but a fact, that indie is a status and not a genre.

i don’t really. what makes you think we care about whether or not you want our opinions? honestly, my first impression of you is a music prick. your the kind of person who only listens to music that makes you feel special and unique. your pathedic. a music snob.
