Well, I don’t know much about it, just tidbits coming from a few physical therapists and stuff I’ve heard from those who weight train frequently...
I do it because of my muscle disease. It’ll keep me from becoming a blob later in life. And, its helped me a bit. My body has become a bit more defined, but I don’t do it as regularly as I should, so the results aren’t too great. I have, however, stayed on track for the past month, and if you do plenty of reps, but don’t strain yourself, results are pretty good.
I was told, for good muscle gain, to weight train a specific muscle group, then let it rest a day before training it again.
As for what I train, just about everything I can get. I also use up to 10 pounds, which sounds pathetic, but as I said, multi/minicore myopathy makes my muscles really weak.
I usually strap several thousand pounds of cat nip to my legs and when the kitten come I kick them.
Does that count?
j/k
Seriously, I can squat the equivalent of my brother, which is around 400 lbs. Not sure about benching.. I suppose around 150 there. But I haven’t been to a gym in months. So my muscles have probably deteriorated. *shrugs*

XD that reminds me of what some old dude in the book i’m reading did. he lured a cat over to him using some milk, then grabbed it, threw it in the oven, turned the oven up to 400 degrees, and watched it fry. lol

I do what is referred to as overload training and endurance training. It allows me to build strength without adding muscle mass.
It is a trick used by boxers and professional weightlifters to increase muscle power and strength without increasing the weight of the athlete.
I won’t say how much I can lift, curl, squat leg press ect as it got people miffed last time:/
I used to do endurance training =)
I was a Light Heavy weight boxer and I used to use lighter weights with more sets. I would also have to do a shiit load of cardio and increase my intensity levels when doing dumbell exercises.

Aswell my coach for my hockey team told me I should be workin on endurance and not size of my muscles. Buut.. I still like it when the ladies turn there heads :P.. haha

I basically do the endurance training to strengthen the muscles for repetitive fighting much the same way I train on my heavy bag.
My hidden weapon is the overload training where you find out what the heaviest weight you can lift for a whole set, add another 50% to that and do 3 sets of 3 reps, then increase the weight and repeat until you can no longer lift the weight.
It builds the fibers in the muscles up so you get more power and strength without actually noticeably increasing the size of the muscle.
Its a good technique to give you the edge in a fight when someone judges you on your appearance.
You look small in size but you punch like a heavyweight boxer.

The look of surprise is priceless.
The Heavy bag is a Really good Anti-Anger drug its also hard work. Ive never tried a workout plan called “the overload ..." Maybe I should give it a shot.

It took me a lot of work to gain more leg mass. It’s hard for me too gain muscle mass, but it doesn’t matter because I like to have a more lean look. I try to keep a DBZ style body,
not counting when Goku flexes. I could never pull of a muscular look like that.
