Well what is the meaning of life?
Society places much emphasis on money and being successful of which are often pivotal to any single persons survival. Success = money. Money = happiness.
Yes, that right, money = happiness.
Now there might be those of you that dismiss that statement as false, but we need money to buy happiness. Now this doesn’t just go for expensive luxuries such as a car or a house.
Simply, because you can find people like the monks of Tibet who don’t buy anything and are happy receiving gifts to survive, however those gifts still cost someone money.
A house even if won in a lottery still cost money to build, even if not paid for by you.
People need money to be happy. You have no food, no house, no possessions..well you won’t be very happy, nor will you live very long.
Therefore due to lack of money = misery, money = happiness, even if indirectly.
People work hard and strive for success for money, to live better lives and live more comfortably. To be happier.
So does this mean that success is the meaning of life. To earn a nice wage, have nice things to live comfortably.
well no, not really.
There are those who choose to live a life of poverty or live a life of poverty due to circumstances out of their control and they still have meaning to their lives.
so that pretty much debunks that success and money are the meaning of life.
So whats next...Reproduction, to preserve the species....
is this the meaning of life?
Reproduction and spreading our genetic material so that our genetic likeness may live on after we are gone is not so much a meaning, but a survival technique that is inherent in all of natures animals. If we reproduce in the same genetic circle we are born without seeking a mate from a different genetic background, the negative traits of our genes will be strengthened over time and wold ultimately lead to the destruction of our linage. By mixing our dna with that of another, we are strengthening the chances of survival through the creation of a new genetic being who has a strong chance of picking up good traits form either parent and avoiding the pitfalls inherent in their biological parents genetic structures. this would allow them to have a better chance of surviving and changes to the enviroment that might kill off their parents.
Now this isn’t so much true in modern times for humans since we have all but distanced ourselves form the harsh living conditions that animals in the wild face. Even so, many of us still possess that instinct to reproduce, even if that has been in large replaced by recreational sex.
SO..how come reproducing and having a child isn’t the meaning of live?
Well some individuals are born unable to bear children and others choose not to. This would insinuate that they have no meaning to their lives where as they clearly do and can go on to do many great meaningful things.
The key thing is that the 'meaning of life' is available and obtainable by everyone who is living, not just the select few who can reproduce or work hard and earn money.
So if not reproduction, nor success and money, what could the meaning of life be?
Perhaps religion, as hinted by members and churches alike is the meaning of life, our purpose for existence??
that we shall see.
religion couldnt be
or else i would have no meaning of life being im not religious
money/success- nope im perfectly happy with what i have -not alot either-
reproduction- once again, no, im A sexual so that doesnt even come into it anywere for me
so either i defy all meanings of life, or theres some still some problems
