Elvis is the king of rock and roll, however rock and roll is different from just plain rock.

Led Zep is the king of hard rock, and ultimately leading the genre into metal.

But the kings of rock were the Beatles.

But that’s a band that started it all, and branched out, not necessarily to rock. The topic is rock band, and there are other bands that are great ROCK bands.
