But is the UN not the same as what your proposing.
And what if we wont to fight a war that the rest of Europe dose not? Is that not the same as what happened with the UN

Uhh, what?
NATO dude, NATO. America wanted desperately for Europe to be armed during the Cold War. Not much has changed.

My friend you are a little out of date Europe would like to make a proper army not NATO.
This would be a army that worked as one not separate countries with there own agenda’s.

But if Europe could do it and make it successful would that not be a good thing for other counties as you well know counties like Sweden/Holland/France/Belgium are not GUNHOE like the Americans and to a lesser extent the British?

Dont be an ass Europe would like it’s own army and not have to rely on the US to deal in it’s problems.

Ok not America as such but elements in the us government dont want it to happen.
They see it as a threat to them and there power status in the world.

Well it would be, But that would be a good thing.
One country should not have all that power. Its dangerous.

Of course that stands to reason but would Europe allow it Hmmmmm?
How long can America stay the super power in this small world.

I don’t think a European wide army is feasible anyway. NATO was only made possible because of the climate of the Cold War, but nowadays, all European countries have a different agenda. Just look at the division over the Iraq war. Each country has different interests, history. I don’t think they could ever agree on anything tbh.
Also, having an army with 8 or so different languages doesn’t make logistical sense.

I think it would be great. then europe could pay for it’s own army and my taxes would stop being sent directly overseas. don’t get me wrong, i know we need our allies but i get a little tired of people complaing about the military sending funds for bases and personel all over the world and having are alies complain about this. i think that we should pull our troops from all over the world. the only problem with this is we’ve seen what happens when european nations have large armies. they tend to attack each other.

Happy to help Rep: 31 Joined: 05 Jan 2007 Posts: 9,331 OFFLINE | I agree with all you’re points but Europe has changed a lot these days and i think it can be done after all they have all got together to make the Euro fighter plane which seems to be successful and this could happen on many other projects to, so helping to lead to one complete European alliance and so aiding to one European army and the language would have to be one which would have to be English as most of these countries have English as there second language.

That’s not as successful as you think it is actually. It’s done pretty well for itself, but one of the principle nations involved in the design (ie, those bastard French) dropped out mid-programme, taking the designs with them and creating their own plane based on the Typhoon. The Rafale, I believe.
But still, I really think the language thing is an enourmous barrier. It’s hard enough to know what to do in combat, let alone with your troops barely understanding what you’re saying.

Men prepare kick to nuts!!" Cause I’ll be the General and stuff, and we would start a massive kick-nut-gallore.
