Karas are the defenders of each major city on the planet chosen by the city to defend it against both Human and Demonic threat’s that would chose to harm the balence between them, a Karas is someone who know’s true human suffering so is therfore right for the job.

Otoha was raised in the Yakuza Mafia and could not feel pain so remained disconected to other human’s and was used as a tool on rival Gang’s, he is the basterd son of his mother and real brother who had a secret affair makeing him question his existence as he was unwanted at birth and both pearent’s wished him drown at birth.

He made one loyal freind who hated to see him suffer and planned to steal from the Mafia in order to help them escape the lifestyle Otoha came to call his bestfreind brother due to their close connection but during their raid Otoha saved him and took 2 bullet’s falling several stories to what should have been his doom.

His freind was beaten and tortured and kept as a slave for his betrayal Otoha however went into a Coma were he was chosen by Yurina (the Voice of the City) to become the next Karas and end the Fued between man and Demon.

Eko was once a Karas from 13 centuries ago but felt Humanity had become arrogant when forgeting about demon’s who were once their superior’s, now he just want’s to destroy all of them and reclaim dominion over the world.

Otoha attempt’s to stop him and loses his power' once during the encounter’s were he decide’s to go save his childhood freind from the Mafia he douse so only to have his farther kill him in cold blood, Otoha loses control and kill’s his farther aftr hearing how he despises his existence (Otoha is saved by a femal Karas who tell’s him he is a spechial person who has an amazing gift witch no 1 else posesed) and then raises the question of why Otoha was chosen to be the Karas.

Karas is to fast for Sephiroth from what ive seen and is also able to control his sword without holding it, they say his sword is as hot as the sun in the manga so id sa he would win

Chaos IS faster than Sephiroth...but the Karas is.

Karas: Armored warriors, the soul of a human manifested in an out of body experience. Only people who know extreme sorrow can become Karas under the city’s will. There is usually a Karas for every city and a code of conduct enforced by their Yurine that normally forbids them from getting involved in another city’s matters. A Karas can also transform into two alternate forms: a large, tank-like car equipped with powerful missiles and a bird-like jet fighter with a gun that fires bolts of energy. All Karas have an object that allows them to transform into their armored Karas forms and which symbolizes their link to their Yurine. These objects transform into their weapon for battle. For Otoha and Eko, this object is a pocket watch with an eye that replaces the clock face and which becomes their swords. Homura carries a sword which transforms into her spear. After episode three, Otoha’s watch remains in sword form after he loses his powers. Eko’s watch is merged with his body when he assumes his mechanically enhanced form.

Yôsuke Otoha: Chosen as the new Karas and still proving himself to Yurine. He was originally a member of Yakuza and believed to be the younger brother of Yakuza boss Otoha, but was actually his son, born of an incestuous union between the boss and his own mother. Otoha’s inability to feel pain combined with his talent with a blade labeled him as a monster. It was only after being nearly killed that Otoha forged a pact with Yurine and became a doctor of sorts, tending to the benevolent spiritual entities who had grown ill due to Eko’s actions in both worlds. At the end of the first movie, Otoha would eventually learn that his human body was in a deep coma in a hospital located somewhere in Shinjuku. Upon realizing the truth, Yurine was abducted and Otoha’s spirit faded back into his body. Now human, Otoha had to resume his normal life it would seem, getting vengeance on his brother/father after failing to rescue his friend Reiji. However, Otoha’s intent to fight resulted in Yurine being reborn through him and his powers as Karas being restored. When commanded by Yurine, Otoha becomes clothed in impenetrable armor and wields a powerful katana. Upon becoming Karas, he gains the ability to move with incredible speed and attack with amazing physical and magic power. At times, he is moving so fast that it appears that everything around him is moving very slowly or has stopped moving completely. Also, upon becoming enraged, his eyes turn a fiery red, allowing him to transform his sword into a massive blade capable of hewing any foe. After regaining his powers, Otoha’s armor receives a radient golden trim which replaces the duller silver trim it had before, and his eyes become permanently red, probably signifying he had reached a new level of power. Voiced by Steve Staley in the English dub.

Hoshunin Eko: Chosen as Karas in the Edo period. Eko realized how to seize power in this world by upsetting the balance between the spirits and humans and subsequently turned his back on humanity. Since his fall from grace, Eko has killed every Karas after him and before Otoha while setting up his own plan to wipeout the city’s human residents to “purify” the city of their filth and recruiting like-minded spirits who he converted into Mikura. However, Eko’s deeds, though “pure”, set the city into utter chaos with its normal supernatural occupants getting sick. Being a master of science, Eko devised a means to assume Karas form without need for his Yurine (or his human body) once Nue killed her as he intended. Eko’s Karas armor is blackened with evil, and his skills are enhanced through science to be beyond those of a normal Karas. He has a mechanical prosthetic leg, which is all that remains of him after his defeat at the hands of Otoha. Voiced by Matthew Lillard in the English dub.

Homura: A female Karas from another city, who had been investigating the cataclysmic changes occurring in Shinjuku, taking over for Otoha after he became human again. She is accompanied by a pink-haired Yurine from another city. It’s speculated by fans that she is related to Hinaru. She is very gung-ho and through out her observation begs her Yurine to let her join in the battle. She is a great aide to Otoha in his final battle with Eko, though she was over confident in her own skills. Voiced by Kate Higgins in the English dub.

Unnamed Karas: The Karas who fought Eko in the opening scene of the series. Despite his powers, he was defeated when the stronger and more experienced Eko severed both his arms simultaneously. His face was revealed bleeding and crying in pain before Eko delivered the killing blow. This occurred three years before the main storyline. Little is known about this particular Karas though the bed on which his real body died is overlooked by a white cat (possibly Yurine) before moving on to Otoha’s bed.
Yurine: A term for a manifested will of the city who assumes the shape of a young woman when she forms a pact with a Karas, able to assume a feline form. Originally, the city had one lite-blonde Yurine until Eko had her incapitated, forcing the city to create a new blue-haired Yurine who eventually recruited Otoha. Though Otoha’s Yurine was killed along with Eko’s during Nue’s attack, she is later revived and manifested from Otoha protecting the city’s will. As revealed, there are multiple Yurines, each tied to a different city and with a respective Karas. Voiced by Piper Perabo in the English dub’s first volume and by Cree Summer in the 2nd volume.

From what i can gather Karas move’s so fast time appear’s to have stopped.

No he dident...he used warp were he move’s quight fast but not invisible flash’s of light fast.

Yes use the outdatted quote instead of useing ur common sence not to belive everything you read when new material is gathered, there is more than enough given in DoC to overshadow Sephiroth.

You see this is the fundimental differance between us i dont need the UO becuase ive SEEN what Sephiroth can do ive seen his speed his power his so called strenth and i know he aint faster than Cloud’s Omni-Slash meaning he isnt as fast as Chaos or Omega Vice they pwn him badly in both consept’s of the being’s and in pysical feat’s i dont need to read the UO anymore because time and time again it dousent add up they made Vice ubove Seph in all aspect’s both story and charicter they throw it in your face “DG WERE THE STRONGEST ON THE PLANET WE WANT ULTIMATE EXISTENCE IM VICE I PWN ALL WERE UBOVE SOLIDER NO 1 KNEW ABOUT US THAT’S WHY YOU DIDENT KNOW WERE THE BEST” lol.

Sephiroth, have you not seen him on Advent Children, ff7 ect.? He would kick Karas' ass so bad. His sword would cut through him so fast.

Considering Time stop’s when the Karas fight’s and his sword is as hot as the sun i dont think so...
