He said the illusion idea makes more sense. However if it is an illusion it doesn’t matter.Seph would kill all his team but not the Darkstalkers.

Cloud might be able to go toe to toe with Seph Physically, but I even doubt that. In Advent Children, it appeared as though Sephiroth was several leagues above Cloud. The whole “He is said to not have exerted himself” thing in the ultimania kinda proves that.
Even without that bit, it’d be hard to find any grounds of Cloud being as skilled as Sephiroth with a sword. Cloud was a grunt in the militia, all his training was, chances are, with a rifle and a hand gun. It’s fairly safe to assume that the first time Cloud used a sword to fight was when he was helping AVALANCHE on that first bombing mission.
Sephiroth, on the other hand, was 1st class. All the first class Soldier I’ve seen, use a sword. Implying that they were trained to use them.
Cloud isn’t as much skilled as he is augmented. He has power way beyond a normal human due to overexposure to MAKO.
It’s fairly safe to assume that Sephiroth is physically stronger, faster, and more skilled with materia and blades. The physical attributes are because it’s pretty much proven that exposure to MAKO increases your physical abilities. That’s why SOLDIER were showered in the stuff. They became “super soldier” Sephiroth spent, what? 3 years encased in pure MAKO? He’s also got all those J-Cells, so many of them that he might as well be more alien (or Jenovian) than human. As seen with the Jenova Project, J-Cells are also shown to increase physical abilities. Sephiroth is scary powerful.
If Jenova can do that, what do you think Sephiroth can do?

Jedah, who is an S-Class, created an entire new dimension, the Majigen.
A measly B-Class like Anakaris could travel through time for thousands of years, bring himself back from the dead and teleport his entire kingdom to another dimension.
Basically Demitiri is an A-Class and both Morrigan and Jedah are S-Class.The FF side stands no chance.

Whether that stand a chance or not relies completely on how far you’re willing to dive into Sephiroth’s power. There’s a lot of abilities that he has never shown, but if you look at what he’s done and what others have done, you can be fairly certain he’s capable of.
The worst of these abilities would be his power to drag your mind/spirit/whatever out of your body and into the lifestream.
Aerith was able to drag Cloud out of his physical body and into the planet to combat Sephiroth while they were in the lifestream. I’m fairly certain that Sephiroth is more than capable of doing the same thing.
Once in the lifestream, he could potentially be unstoppable, mainly because it’s his domain now. He has been shown to have control over anything infected with Jenova Cells. That includes the lifestream itself. Think about it, if you’re submerged in the lifestream and your opponent has 100% control over it, who has the advantage?
You’ll also be losing a decent amount of the Darkstalker’s abilities, as they’ll no longer possesses a physical body. Their strength would be derived completely from how strong their will is.
But it’s always difficult to out will Sephiroth. His will is so powerful that he can will himself into existence after being killed.

Cloud beat him before he spent 3 years in the lifestream.
And Sephiroth did will himself into existence without Kadaj and his gang.
It happened before and during the events of FF7. Remember, he only had half a body during the game. It was taking him several years, but he was reconstructing his body from nothing. Now though, he’s got a lot more power in the lifestream, so the process would probably take practically no time at all. A month maybe, to create an entirely new body.

Pale Horse:Inflicts you with every status effect in the book.We saw Cloud and his friends survive it so beings of much greater power would have no problem.

Sora stopped it because Sephiroth wasn’t even trying to defeat Sora. Sora is pretty much nothing compared to Cloud, and Sephiroth... well, you get the idea.

I’m not saying that Cloud is equal, I’m just saying he’s not the chump many people think he is. He still kept up with him for between 1-3 hours (the battle started at 6pm and Cloud woke up at 7am, Cloud was unconcious for around 10-12hours. It’s not a direct quote but that sums it up.
The UO/Reunion Files didn’t actually say “He never exerted himself”

If Sephiroth is holding back, why is he using full power?
Here’s a quote from a pal of mine you can accept or reject this if you want.
The fact Sephiroth chose to fight Cloud the way he did in AC has nothing to do with him holding back and everything to do with his own personal choice. He may have not used all the abilities he showed before, but he’s still trying to kill Cloud, and the creators never once state he’s holding back. Please provide your evidence from the creators that Sephiroth purposefully held back and didn’t try in the fight. Sephiroth choosing not to use magic but all of his physical strength doesn’t equate to him not trying at all. It involves his fighting preference. There is a difference.
I’m just trying to make you aware that Sephiroth wasn’t 'playing' and/or 'not trying' against Cloud. Cloud does well to last as long as he did, before father fatigue came in and handed his ass to Sephiroth.

Well he did match him blow for blow in the falling debris...and you’re referring to noob Cloud. I’m talking about Cloud at the end of VII and in AC, with the AC one being > to VII. Cloud gains ALOT of experience during the events of VII. If he’s not equal in skill then he’s the closest you can get to Sephiroth.

Nobody is above Sephiroth, I’m not saying Cloud is on par with him. I’m saying in terms of physical power, strength and speed or whatever, Cloud isn’t as far behind as many people have illuded themselves to be the case.
But Spiritual ability he pwns Cloud, because simply he as a far wider range of them, Cloud’s only unique ability is limit breaks, which has proven to kill Sephiroth or at least beat him on two separate occasions. Cloud’s physical strength has little to do with his skill, same with Sephiroth. Skilled with materia is kinda a hard debate as Cloud never used it in AC, all you can go by there is game mechanics imo.
Yeah Sephiroth is ALOT more powerful than his base form. But he still got beaten by omnislash. This isn’t about Cloud being equal remember, it’s just that many people think he’s so far behind Sephiroth in the food chain.
Base Sephiroth was actually a human Jenova hybrid or Jenovian as you would put it. In AC he is completely composed of Jenova Cells.
Yes Sephrioth is SCARY powerful, jesusly powerful infact, but the fact that Cloud kept up with him and beat him, shows that Cloud is no push over.

UBER 1337 Poster Rep: 17Joined: 25 Oct 2007 Posts: 3,621 OFFLINE | Well it’s like Cid said kid, Sephiroth was raised by Shinra he literally flew through the rank’s of SOLIDER to become a 1st Class General, he is often regarded as being in a leage of his own altogether by most and was renown as the legendary hero of the Wutia war.
Cloud trained and improved since FF7 sure but that was too year’s Sephiroth spent his whole life training and never once met anyone who could match him (Angeal,Zack,Genesis,)even Cloud himself in VII was no match without his team to back him.
And since AC Sephiroth was also vastly stronger than VII’s it’s only natural to assume the differance between Sephiroth and Cloud had not changed all that much since last they fought.
At best Cloud had 2 and a half year’s training with the Buster sword since the beginning of FFVII to AC not counting NOOB Cloud from Crisis Core who could barely fight at all (remember in FFVII were your traveling to Cloud’s hometown, Sephiroth pwn’s that Ruby Dragon and both Zack and Cloud are feeble in comparison) this show’s that even before Sephiroth was killed the first time around he still was much superior to Cloud or Zack or any of the FFVII crowd at that time.
AC Sephiroth>AC Cloud>FF7 Sephiroth>FF7 Cloud>CC Sephiroth>CC Zack>CC Cloud
