Link’s items aren’t cheap they are just necessary for him to defeat the many bosses in the zelda series ad healways finishes them with his sword. and even if he only had his sword and shield he would still PWN Mario. He could use the great spin attack or the mortal draw to take Mario down. Hell he could beat Mario dow with his sheild and then hit him with the ending blow. Mario would get PWNED unless he got a whole lot of mushrooms. Mario’s strong in his own right but Link would PWN him

Uh no. Ever play a little game called Mario RPG, or any Mario RPG for that matter? Besides, Mario is just too fast and strong for Link if Link didn’t have items.
