wow you have done so much to earn respect, so all religions are the same as NAZIs and you hate not just God but any god because you had some bad expirences when you were young. HAHAH get over it you panzy!

I think religion is silly, dangerous, and for people to keep making straw man arguments, and not make any good point, just confirms what I have come to believe.
--- Theory does not mean an unsubstantiated guess or hunch, as it can in everyday speech. A theory is a logically self-consistent model or framework for describing the behavior of a related set of natural or social phenomena.
So, you think that since we’re not exactly like you, then we’re always making strawman arguments from our own religion that you can’t disprove.
You throw in athiest and religion destroyer.. I like that part. I dont care if you are exactly like me. You make strawman arguments because you do!! I pretty confident that I could desprove any religion.
Damn, that’s mean I can disprove the religion called atheism too!
bingo!
Well...If Atheism was a religion....Yeah. I’d like to see you debunk atheism as there is nothing to debunk. Thats like trying to debunk that blonde is the best hair color.
Mentioning it and quickly going over it is not the same as actually teaching it. The history of major religions, how the interlink together, how they got to where they are today, what appealed to people, going over teachings and major figures of it, etc. Would take a long time to go over with any real clarity.
Um, we went through all of that. We went through the history of major religions along with ancient religions, what each religion’s dogma is, myths of that religion, who they appeal to, major figures, etc. It didn’t take a long time to teach.
Well thats clear up.
Just going to point out a flaw in some reasoning here.
If you learned a bunch of stuff in an hour...it doesn’t mean you can’t learn more in 2 hours...or 2 years or 20 years. Just because you cover the table of elements in an hour doesn’t mean you couldn’t study one of those elements for years as part of your master’s degree.
Whether you like or dislike religion is inconsequential (in regards to the claim made that half a semester of studying religions is all you need to be knowledgeable in the area).
You seem to have gotten your points all mixed up.
On one side religion is terrible and has corrupted so much of human civilization from the church crusades to the United States pledge of allegiance.
But on the other hand, even though it has done these things (and so much more), there’s still not enough information to justify teaching a high school class about it.
I really don’t get it guys.
I mean, Glpex, I know you’re a man of evidence. Don’t you think I could fill several buildings full of evidence of information on various religions, their role in history, their influence today, how if effects people individually, how it can effect economics, social structure, education, major events in history, major leaders and their various affiliations, conflicts, similarities and difference between religions, how some religions have changed over time, the differences in religions as it pertains to regions across the globe, the psyche as it relates to religion, how it effects foreign aid etc etc etc?
Just because you don’t think it should be taught, doesn’t mean that the complexity of religion within our society is something that can’t be taught. Nor that it can’t be taught over a long period of time, nor that there isn’t sufficient information to have an entire class dedicated to the examination of this particular subject.
side note (not my argument):
And if religion is so bad…why wouldn’t you want people to know about more about it? How else can you contradict religious teachings if you don’t know anything about them?
I mean, by learning about many religions you may come across various contradictions, what a great way to become more open-minded. Not just for the theists but for the atheists too (and desists and agnostics and whoever else you may be).

pssst...
did you mean
blond=bald?
Well no, I was trying to point out Atheism isn’t a religion. Let me clear this up more, you can’t debunk everything an atheist believes, it is just impossible.

Not to mention says so kill people
Bullshit there are thousands of ideas of what God are, you can’t say they all say to kill people. Even if so, some people do deserve to die.
I’m sorry but there’s an infinite amount of possibilites about God so what you Atheists don’t realise is debunking all the major ones we believe won’t do shit to Theism itself, which merely states a diety exists.

You need to do a history lesson.
Also Sean, I apologize I was referring to the Christian God there.

Teaching religion to that point is useless, we should be teaching something that actually matters not history, if you want to go deaper you need to find a university history class that can teach you all of that. Religion is not a complicated subject, but what religion has done is.

Not all are, I was leaning more towards the scientology and mormons on the silly part.
