origin: bitten by something
(nobody is sure what that something is)
fast dumb zombies
origin: mutant virus
(not really a zombie unless a corpse was affected)
fast smart zombies:
origin: body snatching bugs
(these guys pop out when u go around a corner in an old abandoned genetics lab)
lake zombie
origin: its not a good idea throwing corpes in a lake, they come back to get revenge on whoever swims in their burial ground.
holy fucking shit! zombie
origin: trying to steal cursed treasure, its almost impossible to kill these things.
mutated rupturing zombie
origin: top secret alien slug thing the government tried to hide until the bugs took over a little town in nevada
(these zombies get all blistery and mutated and finally explode so the bug things can find a new host and breed again)
voodoo zombie
origin: elaborate ritual involving a corpse and voodoo magic, practiced by slaves in the carribean so chances are it probably dates back to african tribal rituals.
flaming zombie
origin: a corpse somehow spontaneously combusts during revival
regenerating zombie
origin: biological expirementation on a corpse
Vampire
origin: a victim of suicide or sudden death rumoured to come back to life in transylvanian folklore. (these are a zombie, todays depiction isn’t how the people who believed in the stories intended, they are rotten, rancid, and corpse-ish)
Ghoul
origin: nobody knows for sure, but these zombies are known for collecting the heads of corpses. they have animal like speed and reflexes.
