To call it pure Communism is plainly false. There’s a reason why the terms Maoism, Stalinism etc exist. Read any modern history textbook, and they will explain that they were not true communism. To say otherwise is a fallacy.

The idea is that everyone works together to make life better for the entire community, everyone gets along, everyone is equal. This is true communism, which is unfortunately highly unlikely and unstable.
People are where it falls appart, people are greedy, have their own agendas and want to OWN things. and thats where the practical interpretations of communism come into play, like in china, russia and cuba. Because not everyone wants the same thing, the people have to be MADE to get along, and there has to be a well led government to control and own everything.

UBER 1337 Poster Rep: 21Joined: 23 Dec 2007 Posts: 1,415 OFFLINE | the communist nations will all eventually morph into some other type of system. already china and vietnam are doing business all over the world. people sell things all over the streets of vietnam and the authorities turn a blind eye to it. my brother in law does much of his business in china and all that black market piracy is capitalism. it’s safe to say communism doesn’t work. it’s just a matter of time before it disappears completely. other oppressed, poor nations will adopt it through violence over time but it will just turn into the same government controlled business' and uneven division of wealth that china has. in china 20 percent of the people own 55% of the wealth, where as here in the u.s. 20 percent of the people own 45% of the wealth. communism is a poorly thought out failure that inhibits progress through personal gain, witch is what drives people to succeed and development of nations.
