With all the victories Liu Kang has got, I can’t really say Ryu has a chance. The only advantage is that Ryu has an anti-air attack (Shoryuken) but it’s not that big of an advantage since Liu Kang can shoot fireballs WHILE in the air, as well as Liu Kang’s greater speed.

Where is it shown Liu has better speed?As for opponents.Ryu has beaten Sagat,Ken,M.Bison,Akuma,Alex,and possibly even Gill.

The flying kick and the bicycle kick travels much faster than the Ryu’s spinning kick.

As Kyle said he dodged bullets.


During Street Fighter he defeated Sagat.In Street Fighter 2 he defeated not only Sagat,but M.Bison and Akuma.Akuma suck an island with a punch.

I only remember him doing that in the anime. Still impressive, though.



He defeated Sagat with a cheap shot, yeah. Also, evidence shows that he was not the winner of the Street Fighter 2 tournament. The only possible winners are Chun-Li and Guile. Ryu is said to have lost to Ken.

He doesn’t have any other speed feats that come to mind.


A win is a win.


Actually he lost to Ken somewhere between Street Fighter Aplha and Street Fighter 2 I believe.He beat Bison and Akuma.Akuma split an island in half with a punch.

ay i add Chun Li say’s he dodged those bullet’s effortlessly and he strike’s a man 3-4 time’s and it takes about six second’s for the blow’s to catch up with him.

Yeah, he also fought Ken in SFA2. Also, Akuma was only testing him, he wasn’t really going all out.

As much as I hate to say it a screw it.Liu beat a loser who absorbs other peoples souls and constantly plots from the shadows to overthrow his master which was finally achieved in Deadly Alliance with assistance.

Well coming to think of it, I’m not sure if Ryu lost to Ken in the SF2 tournament or not. However, he did lose to Ken in SFA2 mainly because he was unfocused. And yeah, Akuma was just testing him. In fact, Akuma always holds back(until he’s Shin Akuma, that is).
