It doesn’t matter if it exist or not, it’s still pretty obvious that the creator wasn’t thinking about the MvC version otherwise, he would have said it.

the creator said ryu vs liu kang. he didnt say canon ryu vs evry liu kang in existance. its ryu vs liu kang. which means ryu in general vs liu kang in general



But obviously, the creator wasn’t talking about that version and it would make alot of sense to use the one from the actual SF series. I doubt the creator was talking about a mismatch.

No, I’m not gonna use that version. It’s just gonna make a messy discussion. The reason I brought up MK:SM is because it was never really stated that he didn’t have those abilities and many times characters have shown that they have abilities they don’t really do in the fights. Plus, unlike Ryu’s moves, Liu Kang’s moves aren’t heavily plot oriented. Ryu’s are, since it was always stated that Ken has more mastery over the shoryuken and Evil Ryu never fought identically to Akuma. To say that Ryu can switch to Ken and Akuma would be a huge problem.

So to be fair, Ryu should use his abilities from which ever Street Fighter version and Liu Kang should use his abilities from which ever MK version.

Then explain why didn’t the creator just say “MvC Ryu vs. Liu Kang”? Anyone who’s played SF and MvC knows there’s a big difference between the two versions, therefore, if the creator was talking about MvC Ryu, that’s exactly how they would describe him.



Liu Kang hadn’t been in any other game series other than Mortal Kombat while Ryu has been in so many other things. Besides, I’m not saying particularly which Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter game (if you wanna use EX or any other non-canon SF game, go ahead) but in those series, they’re portrayed exactly how they are.



How am I trying to make Liu Kang win? All I’m using is Ryu from his series and Liu Kang from his. You’re the only one using Ryu from a different series where he was suped just to fight the Marvel characters.

But that’s the only version you’re using. Might as well just call it MvsC Ryu vs. Liu Kang. If people acted like you and try to look for the strongest version of both characters, that’s exactly what it’s gonna turn to.



Who said anything about popularity? And just because he has abilities from a completely different series doesn’t mean anything.



Actually, using different versions of Superman in ONE vs. debate would also result in a confusing argument, that’s why it makes sense to just use ONE version (and that’s exactly what people use for debates). This is almost no different.

You’ve not used ANY of those feats, especially the Capcom vs. SNK version which is pretty much the same as the regular version. Also, unless you’re talking about the SVC Chaos manga, he has no feats in those series.



I’m not making rules but using that version of Ryu is gonna make a sloppy debate.



Greater feats for ONE version of the character, not just ANY version of the character.

Uh no, because there’s big difference in the movie, game and tv versions so he wouldn’t be talking about ANY version of Ryu.



It seems to me that you don’t care about the debate at all. You care about trying make Ryu win and that’s it. This has nothing to do with making rules. It’s about making a much better and more fair discussion.



Did you forget when I told you that Liu Kang has ONLY been in the Mortal Kombat franchise? Also, the rules also didn’t say you can use any version you want. It would only make sense that we should just come to an agreement about which versions to use.
