All I’ve heard about it is that it’s hard for Westerners and that it’s very polite, not good for insulting.

it’s true about the politeness...there’s not much cuss words as I thought there were...and if you do know other east asian languages, then it’s easier to learn the language...however, it’s still possible for a westerner to learn japanese as well...the hardest part for me is just kanji (Japanese characters of Chinese origin)

I agree it’s hard. My Arabic never really got much further than what I needed for salah.
