Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse Details: Wii Exclusive

Apparently big name franchises ARE coming exclusive to the Wii. After Capcom recently owned Sony, and announced Monster Hunter 3 would be a Wii exclusive, Tecmo seems to be dissappointed with their 360 and PS3 sales. Since then they announced that the next Fatal Frame game, or Fatal Frame IV, would be a Wii exclusive, which was contrary to previous statements that it’d be on the PS3.

Tecmo, in their press conference earlier today, annnounced the game. The game is being published by Nintendo, which shows that yes Nintendo does care about 3rd parties. It is being developed by Tecmo and Grasshopper Manufacture. The devs include Keisuke Kikuchi, Makoto Shibata, and the legendary and recent creator of No More Heroes, Goichi Suda(Suda 51).



A two minute CG video was shown of the game. The director, Keisuke Kikuchi, stated that key words for the game were “memory”, “moon”, and “mask”. Also he feels that the Wii is a perfect fit for the horror genre, which I agree 100% on.



On Nintendo’s part, who was there at the show, stated that are backing this game 100% and will promote it actively, meaning this is going to be treated like the AAA series it is. Here’s some screens from the CG video:

I’ve only played a little bit of one Fatal Frame game, but It’s always intrigued me. But I love survival horrors so you can only know how excited this makes me. NOt to mention Suda and Nintendo involved with it haha.

Oh yea and made sure to link back to livegaming haha.

And anyone who likes survival horrors will like this game. I hear the Fatal Frame series is very good and from what I have played of it, which is very little, its definetly intriguing.

Um I guess we could make that assumption. But I have a feeling that they’ll try to implement a similar engine to that of the RE4 one.
