http://members.freewebs.com/
She was paying £250 a year for a web sight that was not as good as the one I did for her. It took me not even a day to do.
And they charged her £700 for it to be set up.
Business ppl that need a web page but have no clue how to use a computer... There is some right money to be made here... Of course I did not charge her as she is a friend.

Hmm...
You need a development tool, unless you want to use Notepad, such as Dreamweaver. Cid posted a free bit of software, so ask him about that. You will probably need some sort of FTP client if you want to upload all content to the Internet. You also need a server and probably a webhost.
At least, I think...I’ve just done the site work, not the whole deal of publishing.

I don’t give a shit enough to make it pretty, so my pages are bland as fuck.
Observe.

Nothing like tediously typing out simplistic HTML code...
Almost like sex.

you can buy a domain name there for about $10 a year I think. Also some decent hosting for about $30-40 a year. Comes with email for the domain and everything.
For actually making it I would suggest learning some html and CSS. That’s really all you need. PHP and java is nice but depending on what you want to do you may not need those. Also nothing compares to actually knowing what you’re doing instead of just click and drag shit from frontpage

If you’re wanting a forum, PHP is necessary in my experience.
But I’m, yet again, a lazy fuck that uses IPB, PHPBB, SMF, or some shit like that.
