About god damn time. I mean we’ve had Harmonix say it was coming apsolutely, then peripheals be labeled for it, and EA hint at it, but now its been officially announced by EA. Check it from IGN:
Riccitiello mentioned the game at the end of the call’s question-and-answer session. There was no release date given, but Riccitiello referred to the “coming launch” of a Wii version of the game.
There’s been speculation about a Wii installment of Rock Band’s since the game was announced. In April 2007, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos said a Wii-specific version of the title would be coming out in the future.
“We will, at some time, bring Rock Band to every [important] platform,” Rigopulos said at the time, adding that Harmonix would optimize future versions of Rock Band to fit the strengths of the platform. “I think the Wiimote is something that holds enormous promise.”
Despite Rigopulos’ strong statements, no official announcement had been made about a Wii version of Rock Band until Riccitiello’s off-hand statement in today’s conference call.
After the call, we contacted an EA rep for more details, but all we got was a confirmation that, indeed, a Wii version of Rock Band is coming.
Sweetness. Gives me a reason to pick the game up, and hopefully by the time the Wii version comes out, it’ll be a little cheaper. So for all our music game loving Wii owners, you will be happy to know your virtual band dream will be coming true.

Is there any good reason to get it on any system above any other?
Aside from graphics, which I don’t pay attention to at ALL, I have no reason to have the 360 or PS3 versions of Guitar Hero 3. Yeah, it doesn’t have downloads on the Wii, yet, but it will. Rock Band too, likely.

Cheaper price?
About the only thing I could think of. That’s actually why I and my bro got the Wii version of GH3. $10 cheaper haha.
As I really didn’t care about downloadable content. Microtransactions will only end up sucking up all my money haha.
Now Guitar Hero 3 I would have definately got for the Wii. Achievements are fucking rediculous, and it’s about 100 bucks. Big rip off. Guitar Hero II FTW!

Achievements are mainly the reason I’d get multiplatform games on the 360. That’s why Guitar Hero 3 is different.

I’ve yet to see the point of achievements on my 360. I really have no motive to strive to get them. Does anyone else feel this way or just me.
somehow
I only see half of the achievements reasonable to get
the rest no point in doing so...

I think they’re a real disgrace to true gamers. It almost seems as if, people wouldn’t really play games until they were getting rewards for it.
That’s why I have respect for speed-runners, they actually do it just because they like to, and because what they have to show for it is far more amazing than some useless numbers, but that was never the point to begin with anyway. I’m neglecting the fact these dudes have to spend a shitload of time on speed runs.

That’s sad.
Anyways, they are there just because they can, another reason to separate the 360 from the other consoles, and to add some replay value to game.
