That’s sad.
Anyways, they are there just because they can, another reason to separate the 360 from the other consoles, and to add some replay value to game.
It’s not sad. They are an optional thing and that’s how I feel about my option. Deal with it.

Actually, the point of achievements is an opinion. It has no real point, because you can do everything they state anyway. And gamers would do that stuff, just for fun.

It just shows what you play, how much you like it, and what lengths you are willing to go. It’s just to boost up your gamerscore.
Think of it as Pokemon. You just got to catch em all!

No I know what they do. I stated that I don’t see the point in wanting to obtain achievements or the strive to do so as it’s just not something that intrigues me. That is an opinion that you damn well should respect just like I respect your venerable and opposite opinion.

I would have expected you to know better.

He is clearly wonder what the point is, what is the purpose of them being there. This should be obvious, painfully obvious. this is in no way an opinion. How the fuck could you possible claim thats an opinion?

What is the purpose?
Why do you need achievements to fully flesh a game out? Why do you need points to do something you can do regardless?
I mean, people have been doing this since the dawn of games!
The point, really, is just to give idiots an incentive to do these things, and/or show off who has more points, even though that’s superficial because you get a lot of points for basic shit that will always happen eventually.
If you need a list of things to tell you how to play, then you aren’t really playing. I didn’t spend all my time glitching in Super Mario 64 to get points, I did it because it was fun, and the same thing with 120 stars. I don’t learn to micro 5 Marines in Starcraft to get points, I do it to have fun and win. I don’t play on hard modes to get points, but because I like the challenge. I don’t play a game twice through for points, but because I want to get stuff I missed or just play the game. I don’t do obscure things for points, but because I think its fun to exploit or just actually play the game.
