hip hop is dead went gold by the RIAA so i dont know what youre talking about. jay-z is the other rapper who has had more platinum albums (all of his albums are either platinum or multi platinum). none of lil wayne’s albums have won shit from the RIAA. (if you dont know what RIAA is, its the one organization that certifies platinum, silver, gold albums)

Most of Nas’s albums had relatively good reviews. The only three that went into question among critics were It was Written, I Am, and Nastradamus, but both were received well by the public.

so if anything, the better comparison would be between nas and jay-z, but clearly as i have said, i make the better argument for nas.

you havent given me any argument that supports lil wayne. all you say is that he’s better....when NONE of his albums were certified...so that says a lot about a rapper. you cant just say someone is better without giving me any evidence.

and i guarantee stillmatic, illmatic, hip hop is dead, i am, god’s son, and it was written are all considered better than the carter I or II.

even ghostface killah thinks hip hop is dead because of the south.

WTF are you talking about

Tha Block Is Hot-platinum
Lights Out-gold
500 Degreez-gold
Tha Carter-gold
Tha Carter II-platinum

all his albums have either gone gold or platinum look shit up before you say something like that
and no the only Nas album that was good was Illmatic which I don’t like but I’ll admit was a good album but Hip Hop is Dead sucked ass

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lil_Wayne_discography

so excuse me nigga. and youre so fucking subjective when you talk about lil wayne that youre blinded by the fact that you cant up with a good argument for him. the south is killing rap.

you only like him for his instrumental beats. not for his lyrics. thats the only good shit that the south can come up with. instrumentals. there are only a few good lyricists and lil wayne is not one of them.

lil wayne and chamillionaire might be the best in the rap world right now, but there is a good reason for that. Rap sucks right now. it’s dying and it will most likely be dead in 5 years.

rap is on the same track as disco, just a bit longer. it started in the 80’s, it’s populartiy was rising in 90, and stayed high from 2000-2005. Since then, it’s popularity has been going down, and it’s at an all-time low now. it’s dying.

OK...Ive read all your posts(ya unfortunately,im that bored)

I won’t say hip hop will be dead ever because there will always be real hip hop,you jus have to search for it. People like Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Jay-Z are some of the only mainstream people doing it right now,but that is just one aspect of rap. We’re forgetting all of the good hip hop that is still around. Like Common said in “The 6th Sense”,“The revolution will not be televised....The revolution is here.“Look in the underground and you will find all of the classic hip hop and rap that we love. About Weezy....ill giv him respect because there really is no one like him...Who else has made a remix to every rap song known to man??He definitely shines alot in his music but i feel its because,he claimed he was the best...If you tell yourself something long enough, you’ll eventually believe it...Hes definitely among the best right now,but to say he is the best alive is a bit of a stretch. To compare him to Nas is out of line also..Nas is a poet,a lyrical genius while Wayne is what is popular....But what is popular is not always what is right(i feel like JFK or sum shit lol)...u kno how i feel about this anyway
